I don't know if this has been done before... Each SW movie has different (sometimes radically different) acts or "sections", most of them featuring a specific planet/enviroment/color palette/tone...
Instead of just rating the movies, I'd like to know how do you rate each of the different acts.

It's not always easy to decide where each act begins and ends (or deciding how many acts are in each movie), but for the sake of consistency, I'll divide each movie into three acts.

So, what's your favourite and least favourite section of each film?
As always, discussion about the strenghts and weaknesses of each section is more interesting than the rating itself, so feel free to give your opinion.

    The Phantom Menace.
-Act 1: The Invasion of Naboo and the Rescue of the Queen
-Act 2: Tatooine interlude: Anakin Skywalker and Podracing
-Act 3: Coruscant Politics and The Battle of Naboo

    Attack of the Clones.
-Act 1: Coruscant: assassination attempt and the Chase
-Act 2: Romance on Naboo, Investigating Kamino and Tragedy on Tatooine
-Act 3: Geonosis: The Beginning of the Clone Wars

    Revenge of the Sith.
-Act 1: Battle over Coruscant and Rescuing the Chancellor
-Act 2: Palpatine's Seduction, Mission on Utapau and Anakin's Decission
-Act 3: Order 66 and Mustafar

    A New Hope.
-Act 1: Leia Captured and Tatooine
-Act 2: Rescue on the Death Star
-Act 3: The Battle of Yavin

    The Empire Strikes Back.
-Act 1: Hoth: Rebels on the Run
-Act 2: Dagobah and Asteroid Romance
-Act 3: Cloud City: Heaven and Hell

    Return of the Jedi.
    -Act 1: Jabba's Palace Rescue
    -Act 2: Mission on Endor
-Act 3: Final Confrontation and The Emperor

    I'll bite...

    The Phantom Menace.
-Act 1: The Invasion of Naboo and the Rescue of the Queen - 6/10. Nice fast pace, gets the job done, unremarkable.
-Act 2: Tatooine interlude: Anakin Skywalker and Podracing - 7/10. Podrace is fantastic, a bit slow otherwise but great character building.
-Act 3: Coruscant Politics and The Battle of Naboo - 7/10. Coruscant stuff is drab and needless, Naboo battle is excellent.

    Attack of the Clones.
-Act 1: Coruscant: assassination attempt and the Chase - 6/10. Anakin is highly annoying throughout, but good action and tone.
-Act 2: Romance on Naboo, Investigating Kamino and Tragedy on Tatooine - 3/10. Romance is just awful and although Kamino and Tatooine are better, it's a dead loss.
-Act 3: Geonosis: The Beginning of the Clone Wars - 7/10. More exciting and consistent in tone, but at this point why should I care?

    Revenge of the Sith.
-Act 1: Battle over Coruscant and Rescuing the Chancellor - 8/10. Definitely the strongest start to the prequels. Fun and thrilling. Anakin is likeable.
-Act 2: Palpatine's Seduction, Mission on Utapau and Anakin's Decission - 8/10. Slow and uneven but ultimately very satisfying.
-Act 3: Order 66 and Mustafar - 8/10. Great duels and Order 66 is amazingly done, but the dialogue in this act is beyond awful and it lets things down.

    A New Hope.
-Act 1: Leia Captured and Tatooine - 8/10. A very decent start, with lots of key set-up and world-building. Tatooine is excellently realised.
-Act 2: Rescue on the Death Star - 9/10. Most of the character work takes place here - Han and Leia are awesome, and there are endless great moments.
-Act 3: The Battle of Yavin - 10/10. High drama and the highlight of the saga up to this point. Incredible tension and a hugely satisfying end.

    The Empire Strikes Back.
-Act 1: Hoth: Rebels on the Run - 9/10. A fun, action-packed beginning that changes the tone abruptly whilst providing us with a brilliant ground battle.
-Act 2: Dagobah and Asteroid Romance - 10/10. Star Wars at its height. Luke/Yoda stuff is magnificent, and Han/Leia is a joy to watch.
-Act 3: Cloud City: Heaven and Hell - 10/10. Pretty much keeps up the quality. Dramatic, heart-rending scenes, and Luke/Vader is electrifying.

    Return of the Jedi.
-Act 1: Jabba's Palace Rescue - 7/10. A pretty strange, sidestepping start but a pretty entertaining one. Far too lengthy though.
-Act 2: Mission on Endor - 6/10. Very slow indeed, but the Ewoks are fun and memorable and Luke gets some great material here.
-Act 3: Final Confrontation and The Emperor - 10/10. A barnstorming, high-octane end with truly amazing scenes aboard the Death Star. Perfect conclusion.

So overall scores from me would be:
    TPM - 20/30
    AOTC - 16/30
    ROTS - 24/30
    ANH - 27/30
    ESB - 29/30
    ROTJ - 23/30

Reflects my feelings about the films pretty accurately! If I could, though, I would give Empire Act 2, and Return Act 3, an 11 out of 10.

    The Phantom Menace.
-Act 1: The Invasion of Naboo and the Rescue of the Queen 9/10 Very tense and fun
-Act 2: Tatooine interlude: Anakin Skywalker and Podracing 6/10 Nice character moments, but a tad dull
-Act 3: Coruscant Politics and The Battle of Naboo 9/10 A whirlwind of action and drama culminating in the best duel of the PT

    Attack of the Clones.
-Act 1: Coruscant: assassination attempt and the Chase 7/10 By far the weakest act, but a decent start none-the-less
-Act 2: Romance on Naboo, Investigating Kamino and Tragedy on Tatooine 9/10 I think people saw "romance" and forgot to rate the rest. Amazing, saga defining stuff.
-Act 3: Geonosis: The Beginning of the Clone Wars 10/10 The greatest sequence in any Star Wars film.

    Revenge of the Sith.
-Act 1: Battle over Coruscant and Rescuing the Chancellor 7/10 Never too impressed with this sequence. Needed more dogfighting and less humor from the battle droids
-Act 2: Palpatine's Seduction, Mission on Utapau and Anakin's Decission 10/10 Padme's ruminations is the greatest non-Star Warsian scene ever and Palpatine's transformation is a wild romp.
-Act 3: Order 66 and Mustafar 8.5/10 Tugs at your heart-strings, but the Anakin vs Obi-Wan duel has always been a bit of letdown for me. I actually prefer Yoda vs Sidious by a decent margin. The ending itself is very well-executed, and the film overall is the most disciplined, but it's not my favorite.

    A New Hope.
-Act 1: Leia Captured and Tatooine 7/10 The opening is iconic, but once the 'bots arrive at Tatooine I find myself drifting off.
-Act 2: Rescue on the Death Star 7/10 The characters constantly squabbling gets on my nerves, but the action set-pieces are fun.
-Act 3: The Battle of Yavin 7/10 A good, but slightly dated climax.

    The Empire Strikes Back.
-Act 1: Hoth: Rebels on the Run 7/10 Has some really distracting claymation and Luke's rescue is an unnecessary diversion. Takes too long to really get going. The Battle of Hoth is underwhelming, but I love how the music swells when Vader enters the base. Good times there.
-Act 2: Dagobah and Asteroid Romance 5/10 Everything with Yoda is fantastic, but the film just drags so heavily in the middle.
-Act 3: Cloud City: Heaven and Hell 9/10 Cloud City is the definitive Star Wars world. The lightsaber duel is the most atmospheric, and the most emotional. The best emotional acting by the cast takes place in this act, and that applies to the entire OT.

    Return of the Jedi.
-Act 1: Jabba's Palace Rescue 7/10 It's a nice little side journey. However, the reveal of a second Death Star makes my eyes roll pretty far back in my head.
-Act 2: Mission on Endor 3/10 Endor bores me visually. A forrest moon is just so unimaginative, and the Ewoks are...unfortunate.
-Act 3: Final Confrontation and The Emperor 7/10 The Throne Room is 10/10 however, the rest...ok the space battle is well-executed, but the ground battle just dampens this act so much.

Rating all of Star Wars in 18 parts or 18 times over. This should be easy. :p

Look, I'm gonna offer a cop-out, at this time, because, well... rating all the acts in this fashion is just too damn difficult. And pointless.

Fantastic breakdowns, though, of the acts themselves. To me, it's quite clear that the middle acts are all interludes, the opening acts are like mini-movies wrapped in dynamite, and all the climaxes are fantastic excursions into multi-tiered mayhem.

By the end of every movie, you should have had your breath taken away, like Anakin shut up in the Vader suit, as the movies go to black. Only, you are free, and he is enslaved. Or does our love enslave us to these silly space adventures?

That's my real problem here. You really cannot rank the movies in this way. It's like tearing chapters out of an epic novel. I'm not going to do it. I'll leave that perverse activity to others. To me, all the films are brilliantly calibrated, and the interlinking of them all, with variable tone and texture, resolves everything into a delirious whole.

I'll tell you what one of my favourite things is, though. And that is, simply, the ground covered in each movie, and how each really hits a Dionysian high at the end. So much happens -- subjectively speaking (as all this is) -- between the start of each movie and the end. And the climaxes to each are perfectly built up to, in my opinion. The elegant, assured teasing along the way! Boy! I think these films are very underrated for the way they pop off at the end. The final acts are so incandescent. And this happens in every movie. I'm a little floored at the construction still.

But hey, that's all part of the drama and the excitement of these films, for those that enjoy them, isn't it?

    TPM
Act1: 7/10 Fresh and full of adventures. Jedi introduction and underwater adventure, Naboo Palace and stuff was cool.
Act2: 6/10 Podracing was kinda cool but overall pretty boring and long story.
Act3: 8/10 other than Duel of the Fates it was meh final act. But duel was a bad fooking ass.

    AOTC
Act1: 7/10 Coruscant is beautiful. Chase was cool, start of Kenobi investigation too. Nothing else other than that.
Act2:7/10 Kenobi line is very good, Anakin's not so much except for Tusken's Village.
Act3: 9/10 I love to rewatch the whole Geonosis sequence. Dooku fight was meh though.

    ROTS
Act1: 8/10 Introduction was epic. Then on Coruscant it was kinda eh.
Act2: 9/10 The whole Council vs Palpatine tug of war for Anakin was fascinating. The ending with Mace Windu death and Order 66 were badass.
    Act3: 10/10 Epic.

    ANH
Act1: 8/10 Cool introduction of villains and heroes, after Tatooine kinda boring but still fine.
Act2: 9/10 The whole DS sequence was amazing. Ending with Kenobi's death was cherry on top of the cake.
Act3: 8/10 Great battle, but for some reason (maybe action is kinda outdated) it wasnt as exciting as DS sequence.

    ESB
Act1: 6/10 overall boring start and I'm not a fan of Hoth battle. It lacks high stakes and relevance. AT-AT were cool in 1980 i think.
Act2: 7/10 Dagobah was very cool. Darth Vader just killed or threatened to kill people, Han almost assaulted Leia. Pacing is really weak.
Act3: 9/10 Vader vs Luke was cool. Carbonite's prison for Han - very cool. Also love the last shot of Luke and Leia with Galaxy in the background.

    ROTJ
Act1: 7/10 Luke was badass. The sequence itself pretty good too.
Act2: 5/10 The whole Endor deal is very boring.
Act3: 10/10 Space battle is so-so. Not enough nerve. But Luke vs Vader and Palpatine is EPIC. Also final scene. Chills.

    TFA
Act1: 8/10 First act was actually cool. Introductions of character were very competent. Tentacle monsters and coincidences were meh.
Act2: 5/10 Very boring. Nothing memorable.
Act3: 6/10 Boring battle. Asspulls (all around Rey). Phasma is ****. Kylo is meh.

    TLJ
    Act1: ****** ****.
    Act2: ****** ****.
    Act3: ****** ****.
I can't honestly remember any redeeming quality besides hyper speed ram visual coolness. Too much bad writing and bad story writing.
