A few years ago I met a young man named Luke Sky Walker (sky was his middle name). His parents were obviously big Star Wars fans. I thought this was a one time occurance until my son came home from preschool last week and announced his new best friend was named Anakin.

I was curious as to how many people out there are named after SW characters and what names are in use?

I must admit, I named one of my sons Jason. :)

I know somebody who named his twins Simba and Luke. I have a friend who named his little girl Leia.

I named my dog Padme, but that doesn't count. ;)

I find the image of a little Anakin in a preschool histerical!

I used to call my step sister's cat Yoda. She called
him Raymond, the rest of the family called him Tiger.
    That was one confused cat.

I plan on naming my Son Luke. Now all I need is a Wife
    amd a Son.;)

That makes a lot of sense! I wonder if he turns off his targeting computer when he flys! :D

My cat is named Padme and a friend of mine around here has a cat named Nexu! :)

My wife and I plan on naming our daughter Mara Jade, when we get around to having kids that is! ;)

I also seem to remember around the time TPM came out, some woman teacher legally changed her name to Obi-Wan Kenobi in order to win some contest. Don't know if she stuck with it though. ?[face_plain]

If I have fraternal twins (boy and girl) guess what their names are going to be... that's right Luke and Leia, if they are both boys then George and Lucas.

single names, Boba, Kit, Adi, Plo, Beru, Owen, Mace, Luminara,

Hmm... it could be cool to have a kid named Watto.
If it's a girl, her name could be Mirax!

Watto and Mirax... that'd be neat.

Anyways, I know a certain gentleman who named his child Talon.

Actually I know there is a page where you can search on all names that people have been given in Sweden, and when you do SW-names it comes up with two or three people using them. I feel a bit poor when I found out that somewhere there's a guy called Chewbacca.

At Jedi-Con a man took a photo of me dressed as picnic-Padmé with his daughter, who was called Leia.

We had a black and grey tiger cat named Darth for a long time. He even loved chewing on plastic lightsabers (action figure sized).

Actually I think that depends on what name you choose, and if you want to call the child the SW name or just have it as an "extra" name.

For example; naming a kid Chewbacca as a first name - child abuse

naming a child Luminara as a third name - fine.

The reason is of course that not many would recognise Luminara and would just pass it over as another cool name.
