The JCC has seen admiration threads for the women of music, of movies, of just plain being Natalie Portman...

Of news shows, of rock videos, even of the JCC itself.

Well, I can't believe I'm posting this message, but does anyone else out there think the woman from the Glad Bag / Gladware commercials is really cute?

You know, it's her and some celebrity, and the celebrity's upset 'cause their cheap kitchen product isn't working. "Rodney Dangerfield is mad!" "Tommy Lasorda is mad!" etc. etc. And it ends with "Don't get mad, get Glad!"

Anyone know her name? Previous acting work?

I hope she becomes a recognized actress one day, but one who's committed to the work, not some burnout crackhead who ends up embroiled in scandal and intrigue.

Rick McCallum is mad! But he still loves you!

She's no Tom Bosly, that's for sure. Bosly, aka Mr. Cunningham, taught America all about such revolutionary inventions as the Glad drawstring kitchen bag. I don't think America could have handled something so radical without his gentle countenance.

I have to admit I find her attractive as well. Maybe there are some sort of hidden messages in her incredibly high-pitched voice. She is both annoying and sexy at the same time.

Yeah, her voice sounds like that of a 5 year old. I could swear she does the voice for one of the "rug rats".

UP! C'mon, guys, if she'd been in T2T people would be all over this thread!

(Disclaimer: I am an LOTR fan. Just not of LOTR threads conquering an SW board.)

Well, I'm sorry to say that I do get reasonably annoyed at the Glad Bag chick. Just her voice though. You know how in "Seinfeld" Kramer goes into seizures at the sound of Mary Hart's voice? Yeah, it's kinda like that with me when I hear the Glad Bag commercials. Very un-glad.

So, I guess I'm in the wrong place here...

    <Backs out slowly...>

"if she'd been in T2T people would be all over this thread!"

Man, that would have been some trippy product placement.

Glad Bag Lady: "Saruman is mad!"

    Amazing.

Once again I'm releived that I'm not all alone in this world with some of the things I think.

Yep, she's hot- but I think the voice is a put on, kinda like the girl on Will&Grace, but where her voice is completely different form teh character, I think the Glad girl just over-emphasizes her true voice for dramatic effect. George should make her into a senator for EpIII.

My friend can do a perfect impression of her. I don't mind her when I'm watching TV, but when the TV is in the background and all I hear is that voice, I just want to strangle someone.

And now, the world's first piece of Glad Bag Commercial Chica Fan Fiction.
(I can't call her "girl" 'cause she's a bit old for that, and "lady" or "woman" makes her sound like some upper-middle-aged cranky housewife type in a flowery dress.)
    Anyway:

    "Saruman is mad!"
"Mad? Behold my army of the fighting Uruk-Hai! No stronger will they grow, for those funny little mud-pods we saw in FOTR mad under the pressure!"
"You shoulda used the Gladware Orc-Goblin-Hybrid Growing Pod. Holds an unholy warrior creation all through gestation without tearing, and zip-locks open easily to release him so you can place the mark of the White Hand upon his brow."
"Excellent! Now I'm only mad with POWER!"
    "Don't get mad! Get Glad!"

Hmmm... I never saw "Gimme a Break"... maybe I oughta do some research.

In the meantime, let us all gush over this temptress of kitchenware.

    Rick McCallum loves you!

    From that site:

To answer a frequently asked question, Lara Jill is not the "Glad" trash bags girl. That actress is named Melanie Deanne Moore.

Sweeet! The chick from Cupid! I forgot all about her! :) !

    CUPID!!!

    OH YEAH!!!

Serious, Cupid gets my vote for, if not top, top three most underrated television show of the past decade.

(Top Three == Now and Again, Fantasy Island, Cupid -- which makes 1998-1999 like the WATERSHED of TV entertainment :D)

This might help explain my infatuation with her... :)

Wow, I've never even heard of Cupid. It was on in the late 80s? Strange, that's when I was a kid and was totally addicted to television, you'd think it'd sound at least familiar to me...

Cupid was 1998. It combined the wit of Jeremy Piven and the wit/beauty of Paula Marshall. It had the BEST onscreen chemistry of any couple I've seen in a very, very long time and fantastic writing. I'd even put it higher than Buffy, I think...

EDIT: Picture (unflattering) from Ready to Rumble trailer... (she was supposed to be the "geeky" girl, so she's not done up -- STILL cute... ;))

Soon as my stupid browser cooperates and displays it, that pic will adorn my desktop.

I never heard of Cupid, but Piven's funny and Paula Marshall is quite attractive.

EDIT: That pic IS unflattering! What have they done with my Glad Bag Commercial Chica?! :_|
Geez, I really hope she's not reading this thread right now.

    Rick McCallum loves you!
