In the Final battle with the Ewoks n Rebels taking on the Empire You see a lot of shots of Ewoks fighting the Stromtroopers, Biker Scouts, and AT ST. I think you see like one shot of a Rebel Trooper running for cover and if you look quickly you can see one near the bunker shooting away. Does anyone know if there was like delete sences of maybe more shots of Rebel Troops fighting that didn't make the final cut ? Cause everytime I watch that battle i always wonder where did all those troops go to :)

I'm glad some one brought this up, its one of my biggest pet pieves. It gives the impression that the Ewoks had to save the Rebellions crack commando group and that the stormtroopers can't handle a bunch of care- bears. Which is cool to a 7 year old, so I guess its okay.

    But I hate it.

I think the book actually ignored their role as well. Such a pity... tsk tsk.

The Ewoks helping out the Rebels I didn't mind it was cool seeing some fuzzy bears take out a bunch of bad azz stromtroopers. But from the movie it just looks like Han Leia and Chewie n Ewoks verus the Empire. You see a lot of rebel troops come off that shuttle when they first land maybe they were all captured and put in some holding cell in that small base. Then no one told Han n Leia so they end up killing them all when the blew up the shield gen. Poor Rebel Troops\

That brings up another think I always think about when I watch RTOJ. What if the troops did get caught. Remember Han said met at the shield gen. But Han never mets them there cause he gets caught by the Ewoks. Making me think well the troops keep waiting and some might of got caught by the Empire and put in some cell. Then were killed when Han and gang blew the place up. OR They were shipped back up to the Death Star then were killed when Lando n Wedge blew the DS up. Either way the Rebel Troops get screwed by a bunch of Ewoks damn that has to hurt anyway thats my thoughts on RTOJ :)

At least one of the Rebel troops survived the battle: Lieutenant Page. The fate of the others is unknown.

You can see plenty of Rebel troops in the "aerial" shot when the Imperial troops rush out of the garrision and are captured. So they were there fighting and many of them did come home.

I'm glad someone brought this up, because this is one of my pet peeves as well; it's one of the many things wrong with ROTJ.

The Endor rebel troops are seen very little in the Bunker battle - I think you see one dead/injured on the ground, and you may also see some running around, but we don't really see them involved in the battle, and I agree with the assessment that the Ewoks win the battle for the rebels.

One way ROTJ could have been improved is if the rebels (who were supposedly chosen for their toughness and ability to work well in commando-like missions) had played a bigger role in the Endor battle. Seeing the Ewoks in action was boring and ridiculous....

There were a few around to help plant explosives in the shield bunker.

There was a deleted subplot of a Rebel commando who steals a Scout Trooper's armor to maintain an illusion outside the bunker.

You can spot him in the background in a couple shots, with the face-plate swung up in the air. Most notably the shot of Han first entering the bunker, you can see him in the background still outside, and also when they're being escorted outside to the waiting troops, you can see that the Rebel was captured.

IMHO the actors went on strike and neither lucas or Marquand could convince them to go back on set

Marquand: Sir, the Rebels are rebelling.
Lucas: Let them, we need more Ewok costumes anyways.

The bigger question is: Where did all the imperial officers go? You see them dashing off like cowards.

Even better: What did han do with all the imperial POWs? herd them into the bunker before he blew it up? War Crimes! War Crimes!
