Recommend me bands like Sum 41 and Blink 182

I believe the genre in called Surf Punk, but I might be mistaken.

Apart from the two in the title I'm not familiar with that many others, but I have a newfound interest inthe genre, so recommend me some bands and albums.

 

Why does everyone assume anyone cares enough to take time out of their day to recommend stuff to them?

 

Their genre is pop-rock and um...

Go listen to the Clash instead.

Well, judging by Sum4crap and Blink 18turnthat****off, I think you know the answer already.

 

Shh, guys, I'm trying to ease him into good music up from these two bands! It's a gradual process, but the Goo Goo Dolls (with the exception of The Goo Goo Dolls and Jed) are a large and healthful step up, you know?

Pretty limited, but this is on what I have to base all that I know about the genre .

 

Yeah, I like the Goo Goo Dolls.

I suppose it'll take a little while for him to get ready for the good stuff. Start with The Goo Goo Dolls and like some Green Day, until he's ready for the good stuff like The Clash, The Ramones, ect.

Goo Goo dolls used to be one of my favorite bands, but their lead singer is so damn arrogant and annoying. I still love their music though. Mulacki, do what he says, look into them.

K well I'd recomend getting all albums of both bands, but if you just want a few songs, 'Fat Lip' is a MUST for sum. Some otheres are Over My Head, Noots, Open Your Eyes

By blink I'd get Rich Lips, Whats My Age Again?, Girl at the Rock Show.



Also, look into the band Plus 44, theyre basically Blink without the constant sex jokes and High School Humor. They don't have as many good songs, but 'When Your Heart Stops Beating' is a spectacular song.

 

To be honest, though the genre they're in is crap, the above bands are probably the best involved.

Punk sucks now. I think the last good punk album was "Insomniac" by Green Day, before they went emo. There are some clasics on that album. Jaded, Geek Stink Breath, Stuck With Me... All great punk songs.

Best Sum41 song is Pain for Pleasure

Turbonegro are sort of similar to Blink in their early stuff, but turned more hard rockish recently. Still, "Ass Cobra" is an awesome album

Green Day hasn't been punk since "Kerr-Plunk", and even then they sucked.

Newsflash, Punk bands are not bands you will hear on commercial radio, or see on MTV.

 

The Clash and Talking Heads have merit, so I disagree.
