Kamino under attack! 64-page special fiftieth issue!

Two months after the Battle of Geonosis...w ith the forces of the Republic and the armies of the Confederacy of Independent Systems stalled in a series of indecisive battles, the Separatists risk a devastating strike at the heart of the Republic's war machine: they attack the cloning facility on Kamino! Their hope is to permanently destroy the Republic's ability to create new clones for its army. The Republic's defense rests on a squadron of Jedi Starfighters and a battalion of Jedi-led clone troopers within the facility itself. It's a battle fought on three fronts -- in space, on the ground, and underwater! A massive 64-page battle epic!

Star Wars: Republic reveals events in the time period between Episode II and Episode III -- the Clone Wars! If you're wondering what happens next after Attack of the Clones, this is where you find the answers!

Something I first noticed on the cover for #51, but upon closer inspection, it's here too - Anakin is wearing a black glove on his right hand

As noted above, Anakin first sported the glove in the SW: The Clone Wars game for PS2/GCN ;)

Batman first appeared in Detective Comics in 1939.

Issues 1 through 45 of Republic weren't called "Republic- they were just an ongoing titled called "Star Wars".

Issues 1-6 was called Prelude to Rebellion
    Issues 7-12 was called Outlander
Issues 13-18 was called Emissaries to Malastare
    Issues 19-22 was called Twilight
Issues 23-26 was called Infinity's End
    Issue 27 was called Starcrash
Issues 28-32 was called The Hunt for Aurra Sing
    Issues 33-35 was called Darkness
Issues 36-39 was called The Stark Hyperspace War
Issues 40-41 was called The Devaronian Version
Issues 42-45 was called Rite of Passage

Then the series was retitled Republic, to distinguish it from the new second ongoing series Empire.

Issues 46-48 was called Honor and Duty

Then the recent Issue #49 was a prelude to this big #50 issue, it dealt with a Jedi Intelligence agent finding out about the forthcoming Kamino attack.

Issues #51 and #52 will deal with a Gungan settlement on one of the moons of Naboo being destroyed by a chemical attack by the Seperatists.

Issue #53 will deal with a Jedi missions attempt at infiltrating a Techno Union factory.

Issue #54 will pick up on the Jedi Intelligence agent from issue #49 and his refusal to return to Coruscant.
