    Hello all.

Since we are approaching the end of the Clone Wars, I figured it would be cool to compile a list of all types of Republic and Seperatist capital warships, with individual named vessels listed. I have begun doing some of this research, and have complied a starting list for a few of the main ships used by the Republic Navy. This could turn into a useful resource on Clone Wars era capital ships, so I hope that anyone who has some knowledge on this participates.

So, this is what I have so far...

    Acclamator-class assault ship:

    Acclamator
    Annealer
    Anvil
    Bolide
    Candaserri
    Coronet
    Dominance
    Doughty
    Founder
    Implacable
    Majestic
    VCD987

    Venator-class Star Destroyer

    Venator
    Resolution
    Intrepid

    Dreadnaught-class heavy cruiser

    Atrisian Iron
    Prominence
    Vengeance

Anyways, I am sure that their are alot more out their, especially since most of the ships I listed above have come from the EU books and not comics. So, if you have knowledge on the Republic or Seperatists, this thread is for you!

Was the Nexu confirmed to be a Acclamator-class assault ship? I thought is was just some sort of cruiser?

I got the impression it was an Acclamator. Not entirely sure why, so you may be right.

The Nexu is not an Acclamator, it is described as a dagger-shaped "supercruiser" (surely this is a colloquialism), capable of carrying 20,000 troops. It's carrying capacity is much larger than an mere assault ship's, and a "cruiser" classification sure is an indicator that this ship is significantly larger.

If you'll notice, lots of things come under the 'cruiser' category. Everything from the Jedi ship in TPM to the Mon Cal vessels in ROTJ has been called a cruiser..and guess what? The Acclamators are also known as Republic Military cruisers. :p

What sources had the ships named the Acclamator and the Venator?

Well, I assume that there is a ship named after the class, assuming the GFFA follows the standards of earth. But, it was an assumption on my part.

    Hallek was a light cruiser.

What I'd like to know is where they got the odd Acclamator, Sheathipede, Aethersprite names from.

Perhaps designate which are speculation? That could, on a broader scale, also help you designate which ones are suspected to be of a particular class but we're not 100% sure of.

Do what I do in my starfighter timeline, and highlight or something the "guessed" names (i.e. Acclamator, Venator).

Wasn't the Sundiver also referred to as the Sunrider (in reference to Andur Sunrider)? One of them is a typo, someone should ask John Ostrander.

Oh, forgot an obvious one. General Grevious's flagship, the Invisible Hand. Class still unknown, but part of its shape reminds me of the Rendili Dreadnaught, so perhaps we know the manufacturer.

Though certain design aspects remind me of Mon Cal ships- and with the HNN article mentioning the Seppies stealing mon cal ship designs, this things could be the result.

It is Centax-class Heavy Frigate, not Cantex.

Centax-class being named after Centax 1, the moon where the ships are built.

Oh, I agree. The vessel defiantely is a meld of Rendili, Mon Cal, and other designs.

In the Clone Wars Cartoon, Anakin calls one Acclamator "Cruiser 8". Is this the name of a ship or just a combat-specific callsign?

    Cilghal:
Right, it was the Centax-cass. My fault.

Probably a callsign. Must Acclimator names seem pretty funky, I bet they sometimes assign them numbers for simplicity.

Anyone ever find stats for the Geonosian Dreadnaughts mentioned in Shatterpoint?

Unfortunately, no :( They were mentioned in one of the last HNN reports in Insider, but other than that, nothing. I'd hoped the Clone Wars Sourcebook would shed some light on these splendid vessels(how do I know they're splendid? Well...), but that book is also out of the picture... A pity.

For now, the Invisible Hand is being referred to as a 'Trade Federation Cruiser' by the OS. Since the Federation employ Hoersch-Kessel and Haor Chall for their vessels, the Hand could have been created by either of those. Or perhaps its a custom design for Grievous himself?

I'm pretty sure the Halleck was a heavy cruiser, although I don't have a specific quote. And since the only heavy cruiser I know of in the Republic fleet, I figured it was a Dreadnaught-class.
