I noticed that the RC game isn't listed on the timeline. I know the game starts at Geonosis, but where does it end? I am going through the EU chronologically and would like to know

    Thanks

It ends in 19 BBY with the Battle of Kashyyyk.

But isn't there a discrepancy between the Battle of Kashyyyk as depicted in the game--starting soon after day 785 (2.15 years after Geonosis); and the Battle of Kashyyyk that Yoda oversees in Episode 3--at the very end of the CW? Because there's still several events that happen after RC but before the end of the CW (Praesitlyn conflict, among others).
    Was this ever explained?

Praesitlyn was before Kashyyyk....Kashyyyk was during the end of the war, Yoda fled from there during Order 66.

The Republic Commando mission took place just before the Battle of Kashyyyk, they were there to prepare for the main invasion force, I believe.

I know Praesitlyn was before the Battle of Kashyyyk (at least the one we see in Ep3). It seems like the Republic sent two fleets to Kashyyyk--one seen at the very end of the game (something like 24 Acclamators), and the fleet Yoda takes there.
It's just that there's about 310 days from the time the first fleet is sent, to when Yoda arrives (if we assume the CW was 3 yrs/36 mo. long).

From what I can find, it's intended to be the same invasion in both depictions.

I was under the impression that the Kashyyyk was a prolonged battleground planet.

The Clone Troops were a distinct "skirmish" from the one we see with Yoda, but the Battle for the planet lasted months...Yoda's arrival and the subsequent battle were set up as an endgame...but the fighting there had been ongoing for quite some time.

The way I always took it was the RCs are facing off with the CIS preliminary force, headed mostly by the Trandos...at the end of the campaign, you are essentially witnessing the Wookies attempt to fight off the first major wave of a full CIS invasion...by the campaign with Yoda, the CIS has full armies on the ground.

I'll leave the count of days to others...but the time of the two events are different, though the battle is in essence the same.

The problem is that the intent seems to have been that it's during the events of ROTS, and most of the people who have played it pick up on that, but the date is wrong and things like Grievous being there or Tarfful being captured don't really line up with ROTS. I'm pretty sure Tarfful is seen on Coruscant waiting for Yoda, while Grievous detouring to Kashyyyk before Utapau doesn't seem to fit either. Effectively, going by what is actually established, we seem to have an initial invasion two years into the war which Delta Squad counters and which is responded to by a force under Yoda. Either that incursion is repulsed and Yoda goes home, or the battle drags on and Yoda goes home. Either way, after a year, the Separatists make a big push which is again met by dispatching a force under Yoda.

    Didn't I just say this? :D

It also would help to explain Yoda's line about having good relations with the Wookies...he'd been there recently.

Also, the guy the game calls "Tarfful" is depicted differently from the guy called "Tarfful" in the film. The video game "Tarfful" has the same coloration and helmet as Merumeru ( from the beach ), but is somewhat differently shaped.

It's been a while since I played it but I believe that game ended with a cut scene in which the troopers received some 'new orders.' It seemed clear to me that this was Order 66 which means the battle depicted in the game is meant to be the same one we see in ROTS.

They were receiving new orders from Yoda. Who wasn't even landed yet. So it wasn't Order 66. They were just being sent out again.

It definitely doesn't line up exactly with ROTS, as Havac explained, but the erroneous "days after the Battle of Geonosis" figure is exactly that - erroneous. Ryan Kaufman, I think it was, confirmed that it was a typo/miscalculation at LucasArt's end, rather than a deliberate intention to set it earlier in the war. Hopefully Order 66 will clear the matter up a little, but we'll see.

Well, seeing as how it starts during the battle of Geonosis, I don't think it's fair to call it a typo or miscalculation. The game simply happens to span two or more years of the war. :)

I don't remember the game specifying the orders were from Yoda. I think it said the orders from high up or something like that. But, it's been a while since I played the game and I could be remembering wrong. If you're right, that's a pretty lame ending to the game -

I never got further than the first planet...
I was too bored with the game.
From what I'm reading here, seems like I should be installing it again!

Arghles, I meant to put "xxx days after the Battle of Geonosis"; the disrepancy with the Battle of Kashyyyk shown in RC is that it takes place far earlier than the invasion seen in Revenge of the Sith. And they're meant to be happening at aroundabout the same time, give or take a few weeks/months, as per Kaufman.

I assumed it took place pre-Battle of Kashyyyk proper, and then continued afterwards. Grievous and Tarful fit pretty well, as Grievous isn't actually seen per se; it could have been a decoy, after all.

Kashyyyk was a contested world from the days after the Battle of Geonosis and the end of the Clone Wars, per the NEC. There were numerous battles on it. Surprising that it wasn't outright devastated.

Some battles for planets lasted for over a year - Drengar, for instance, was a battleground as early as 7.5 mths ABG.
Back in mth 16, Kashyyyk had rebuffed the Confederacy but also refused to allow Republic troops to land (although the CIS had interfered with the Alaris Prime colony).
Having the outright battle for Kashyyyk lasting 10-11 mths is certainly possible...

Well, my point was that the orders were coming through long before they did in the film; they were just landing, rather than having been entrenched and weathering a Separatist assault. Ergo, they were obviously coming from Yoda's assault force and not Palpatine -- they were being sent out into the field again. It wasn't Order 66.

And while it may not have been Kaufman's intention for the timeline to be what the game says it is, the game gives us a perfectly workable timeline that actually works better than trying to line it up with the intent. So I'd sooner go with what's said and have it make sense than go with the intent, override what it says, and have it make less sense.

Yes, well, if Jedi Outcast's timeline placement is any indication, they'll let intent overwrite the words. Again.
