Okay, some people have noted that Obi-Wan's haircut in Episode II is the dread Mullet, aka "ape drape" or "hockey hair."

I however, will prove this wrong-it is actually a long, layered shag cut. More like a masculine version of "The Rachel", circa 1995.

    Exhibit A

    Exhibit B

As you can see, the front and sides of his hair are not at all short as one would expect in a "Business in Front, Party in the Back" cut. So it seems that our esteemed Jedi is not, in fact, a member of the Mullitia, after all. It only appears that way because he keeps it tucked behind his ears.

Further study is warranted on this phenomena, but I think it is safe to say that Obi-Wan is NOT a Redneck Jedi.

Face it Guin, Obi-Wan is going for the business in the front, and party in the back approach. 8-}Why do you think Luke has it later on in the GFFA's history?

Exactly, DanakinSkywalker. And neither was Luke's hair ever. Saber, Luke's hair was naturally grown out, as is Obi-Wan's in AOTC. No "Business in Front, Party in the Back" B.S. going on.

    No, it's that's not true. That's impossible!

I grew up in the 80's and I have seen my share of mullets, and that is not a mullet. His hair would have to be cut much shorter on top, but the way he combs it back does make it appear to be one.

Thanks for the thread, Guinastasia. It irritates me when they say he has one, mostly because mullets are...well...not that attractive, and I've seen enough of them to know that isn't one. I don't really know where the whole mullet thing came from in the first place.

    Oh, and...nice pictures. :D

    Exhibit Q:

This badly-doctored picture shows what Jedi would look like if they did have mullets:

As you can see, LFL's hairstylists have spared us the ultimate horror.

Let us all thank our Supreme Beings of choice that this tragedy was averted.

    Okay, now THAT was scary!

Luke had sort of a shag thing going. I think why people say that Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon have mullets is that they push the sides back behind their ears, so it's out of the way.

Mullets are of the Dark Side. (See, that's why Palpy wears that hood, because by TESB, he's got a full on ape drape.)

He'll get out of it in EPIII when Anakin chops it off during their infamous duel,Mullets are probably one of the stupidest looking haircuts a man can have.

I believe Obi-Wan did have a mullet several months prior to AOTC,but decided to grow it out after much ridiculing from Yoda-"White trash I sense in you Obi-Wan.That haircut, need it you do not."

Although, technically, the Padawan hair cut COULD be a mullet-because of the little ponytail in the back. I don't know which catagory it would be, though.

    Further study is needed.

According to Ewan himself, it WAS a mullet, or at least, it was a hair piece.

I still say he's wrong, though. I should know-working at Kmart for four years, you see a LOT of mullets.

Hmm...Guinastasia of the JC Icon Artists, will you defer your motion to allow a commission to explore the validity of your accusations?
