Is it me or does Revan leaving the Republic seem inconsistent with his character. It is implied by Kreia that he left to face the secret Sith Empire. However that seems inconsistent in that Revan is a master battlefield tactition and understands war and battle. So why would he leave, by himself, to face off against the Emporer of the Sith Empire? And if he didn't do that, then where did he go? Why not stay and prepare the Republic for the Sith Empire, like he was seemingly doing when he was conquering the Republic.

That's actually a pretty good answer.
But still don't you find it strange that given his past actions and character, he would seemingly contradict himself?

Dont try to understand Revan. You`ll just end up bewildered and confused

here is my theory on this. When Revan left to go to the Unknown regions he did it for two reasons. He did it so that he could keep the Sith from attacking the Republic before it was ready, and to force the republic to look towards itself to take care of its problems. If Revan stayed people would hang off of his every word. People would travel for miles just to take a glimpse of him. He single handedly ended a entire war pretty much. He was a pretty big hero by now. So if Revan stayed he would have had no peace about it.

I don't think he was alone either. I'm sure he built up an army in the area he was going. He isn't that dumb. But as you can see he only stopped them for about a hundred years. Sith came anyways. The difference is the Republic is a little more stable, and has the ability to combat them. This is what TOR is about.
