While I know ROTS wasn't released on VHS in the US, that's a British tape and I'm not 100% sure that was the case there. Another possibility is that there were some VHS tapes produced for circulation in rental stores only.
Doesn't that defeat the purpose of a Digital copy? I would hope that someone purchased it for collecting sake only.
Since I have Episodes I & II VHS, I was kind of hoping for Ep III just to make it complete but no big deal. I would like a set of all of the American VHS releases of the Original trilogy though for collectors sake... Not to mention a non special edition DVD release of the OT, but that's another matter
I've been to spoiled with DVD. I went back and watched some old Star Wars SE trilogy on VHS awhile back and man the I could hardly stand it. The difference in quality alone is shocking. You don't realize how far we have come until you sit down and make faces of pain from watching a VHS tape. I can't ever go back to those hideous things now. It's so crude. Like fighting a Jedi with a blaster...very uncivilized.
