This discussion is specifically about Rey's theme music orchestrated by John Williams.

I Love Rey's theme. The feelings it causes... It's epic, beautiful, wondrous, nostalgic, etc.

Rey sliding down the desert hill.. Wow! :D

This film's score is super phenomenal!!!

Without question the best new theme, it's a real grower. Weirdly, it reminds me a bit of a Nobuo Uematsu Final Fantasy theme.

It's a great asset for the character of Rey to carry into the next 2 movies.

I don't think it can be compared to the end theme 'Jedi Steps/Finding Luke' for the mysticism and sheer emotion it evokes.

    It just blows you away.

It's freaking beautiful, and one piece of music that more explained a character that i can remember in recent past.

It start lonely and curious, with a hint of wondering, and then go on a crescendo and then you're on adventure, and then by the end is a calm again.

It's like her journey in the movie.

You can tell Williams really cared about her character.

I listen to it at least 10 times a day, i'm listen right now.

“I fell in love immediately with Daisy Ridley,” Williams said of the actress at the center of the new film. “She is just a superstar born.”

Williams introduces the young, resourceful scavenger with delicate and vulnerable instruments (flute, piano and the pixieish chimes of a celeste), which are juxtaposed against the enormity of her galactic backdrop. The chords in Rey’s theme are purposefully related to Williams’ well-known Force theme. (He interweaves the two during the end credits.)

“It’s an interesting challenge with her,” he said, “because it doesn’t suggest a love theme in any way. It suggests a female adventurer, but with great strength. She’s a fighter, she’s infused with the Force, and it needed to be something that was strong but thoughtful.”

Out of the entire soundtrack, this is my favorite song. It really seems to embody Rey's personality perfectly. I'd rank it my third favorite after Across the Stars and Han Solo and the Princess. Lilting and sweet.

    Yep, Williams nailed this one.

When her theme starts playing when she's sliding down the sand dune, it feels special.

this is my favorite track of this movie. I only wish the playful flutes at the beginning go on a bit longer

Is it just me or do those mocking little flutes remind you strongly of R2 D2's mocking little song, that he frequently uses to tease C3PO?

I love this track. Possibly my favorite from the movie. I got the Soundtrack for XMas and love it.

Some posters have complained about Williams not being on his "A game." Well, if that's true, I believe that Williams on his "B game" is far better than most composers at their best.

It was also my favorite theme from the movie. For some reason I find it reminiscent of some of Joe Hishaishi's work on Studio Ghibli films, particularly the music from "Spirited Away".

Rey's theme just sounds like... hope. It's beautiful and complex and perfect.

Yeah, I've decided that, despite some complaints, the TFA score did have it's standout, much like the others, and this was it. In the theater, it was around this moment that the movie succeeded in giving me that nostalgia tear.

It's a marvelous theme. In my opinion, the best Williams has written for Star Wars since the Original Trilogy.
I get that vibe too, along with a Raph Vaughan-Williams/Ennio Morricone Spaghetti Western vibe.

After having rey's theme stuck in my head ever since i bought the soundtrack i'd say John williams did a fine job!
How anyone thinks this isn't one of the best scores he's written is beyond me. I also love the track that plays when rey is about to find luke!
It's so magical and not in a Harry potter kinda way but more star warsy! You all been watching too much HP!

Once again you just can't win with some of the SW fanbase...

Fan #1: Soundtrack not original enough with too many nods to the OT...
Fan #2: Soundtrack too different and not Star Warsy enough...

I would go to as far to say that Rey's theme is one of JW's best compositions for SW ever. It has a magical quality that mirrors Rey brilliantly. The Jedi Steps is also amazing and will be on of the foundation tracks for this trilogy's entire soundtrack. Much the same way the Duel of the Fates was for the PT

I love how when we're first introduced to Rey, The Scavenger is playing and that evolves into Rey's Theme throughout the movie.

I've been listening to the soundtrack for the last few days, John Williams outdone himself this time.
