I'm curious to hear your thoughts on Johnson's involvement on Episode VIII. I was kind of surprised there wasn't an NSA thread for him already so I figured I'd start one.

Personally, I for one am excited to see his take on Star Wars - since he has publicly defended the PT, I feel like we will get a good mix of both from him

Hearing that he would direct VIII made me really quite happy, however I don't even know what to think about VII after hearing George *claim* his treatment was unused. I won't really focus much on the ST until I hear what he has to say about TFA and if it's faithful to his story

Given that he directed the single best episode of Breaking Bad "Ozymandias," I'm certainly hopeful that he can squeeze plenty of drama out of our heroes!

    He's probably a good choice.

Considering GL's habit of exaggerating and being quoted out of context, I wouldn't put too much stock in the notion that his treatment was unused. They likely deviated from some of it and may have decided to put the emphasis on stuff that he wouldn't have focused on, but I'm sure the essence of his story has remained.

That's kind of beside the point, though. I think Episodes VIII and IX will be quite interesting to see, considering RJ's aforementioned defense of the latest trilogy.

I'm significantly more excited for Johnson's directing than Jar-Jar Abrams.

I really dug Looper, and thought the direction and visuals were quite excellent, so I'm very happy with this choice!

The "Jar-Jar Abrams" shtick is getting old.

It was significantly nicer and more child-friendly than the original name I had in mind for him. If we're lucky enough that Episode VII is truly fantastic, it'll be in spite of him, not because of him.

I can't see "Jar Jar Abrams" as anything but a great compliment.

I'm giving Abrams a chance, because I know he wants the new Star Wars film to be what us fans want it to be...and I saw that "Opening Crawl Parody" hahahah...I take it the lens flares were intentional?

Yeaaaah, I'm a little embarrased by the lens flare honestly; I made it before I had realised how overdone that joke was :p Glad you thought the video was funny :)

The more lens flares in the joke videos, the funnier, IMO...

(I know we're not supposed to talk about lens flares and all that....but...there you go.)

george lucas is finally getting his chance to have a bunch of young directors get their shot at doing a star wars movie, just like he talked about when he made a new hope.
