Rise of Nobility - an audio drama

Hi guys. Herein, I'll be posting any updates here about our audio drama. This week I've uploaded a new mp3 of the week.

Some background on it...one of the main antagonists in the production is a Vornskr and it does its fair share of antagonizing let me tell ya. I hired a local to help out with effects. Her name is Chelsea Mara Jade. She's actually, well, a dog. My dog. She was eating some dog food so that we could get some good effects out of it, but we couldn't help but to laugh and give further direction. Here's the link.

Also, I answer the question...why do we need a storyboardist? (which is Chris Neumann by the way).

Hehe. And I was about to say I thought that Adam was the only person reading my threads Good to see ya DLOS.

Adam, no not quite. Chelsea isn't really playing the Vornskr technically. She's lending some effects to what our sound designer in Belgium (David) has sent me. Actually, the Vornskr is a wide blend of sounds. I was kind of worried about this particular effect, but I think it's worked out quite well so far.

For those who have joined our Egroup, they'll get a glimpse of the Vornskr in one of our gag reel/deleted scenes that I scotch-taped together last week.

Looks like we'll be doing some pick-up recording in February. I wonder how many folks around here are even going to attempt to record in December or January. Anyone have much luck getting stuff done in these two months?

I'm getting absolutely nothing done on my fan film until January 5 'cause I'm away from my college computer.



Hey, if any of those pickups need additional actors, I'd love to join. (But you'd need to wait till January 5 or so, for the reason stated above.)

Thanks Adam. Things are good right now actor wise. We've even got a small pool of actors waiting in the wind for auditioning for possible wild lines, which may or may not be used in the audio drama. I'll put ya down for notifying when the time comes.

I'm hoping to have a meeting with some of our crew members before our recording date of February 2nd. I'm not sure if it's going to happen or not, so I'm trying to individually get feedback on what I have been working on via emails....since I have a feeling getting everyone in one room before February might be next to impossible.

Hey, if Lucas can put whoever he wants as background cameos, no reason you can't do the same! There's no crowd scene in there, but I'm sure if you wanted one, you could put one in.

Sure, you can get things done in Nov - Jan. It's just a pain to do so. ChronoRadio has actually stepped up production for the holiday season, so as to release more episodes over the time period when more people are likely to be free to browse the web and check out new episodes.

 

As for the wild lines, yeah we could put just about anyone in there. As far as places for them, that's true that there are no crowd scenes, however I was thinking of placing them in the hangar bay where more than likely you'd hear some manteinance people conversing. Also, the ship scene in the beginning where additional conversations could be taking place in the background. But I may drop these ideas from the final cut if it gets too busy. For right now, there just a possibility.

I know for one I'm going to step up production during the holidays. I just wish I could say the rest of the crew had the same kind of time. We'd really be able to push out some work, but I have a feeling most everyone's time off will be taken with family which I can't blame them one bit. By January, I figure everyone's gonna be too tired to do much of anything. Nathan, you got some kind of secret?

I think there was a thread about how to motivate your crew. Something tells me that thread is dead and gone by now

Crew? What crew? Right now, it's down to me for CR (and interview subjects), and just me and Chris (the lion's share Chris) on getting the first 2S act done.

As I recall, his calendar goes . . .

Dec. 25: Is Second Strike done? It damn well better be!

Dec. 26: Suicide if Second Strike isn't done.

He's really pushing it to get Act I finished.

 

I'm trying to push too. If I could get one scene done by Christmas that would be so nice. We're close, but I've had some feedback that I'm considering that's stretching things out.

Last I heard, Chris said we were about 5.5 scenes from having all of Act I ready.

Hello everyone. I'd like to try an experiment for Act 1 Scene 3. This is a general request for screams and wild lines. male and females alike, basically anyone who wants a chance of being in the audio drama whether you are cast or not. I can alter pitch so your voice can sound younger. In Act 1 Scene 3 we have the Naboo passenger ship going down...it's a very intense scene with small explosions and all kinds of things falling to the floor as the ship jolts. I need your screams and commotion..anotherwards wild lines of things that someone might be saying in such a panic..feel free to have brothers and sisters act it out with you. Just record them in 44.1KHZ and email me when you're done. I can give you more info on how to get the files to me at that point.

If you have questions let me know and if your recordings are used, we will let you know and give credit to everyone involved.

Another week...another mp3. This one is kinda a behind the scenes look at what one of our crew members really thinks about a certain protagonist from Rise of Nobility and his interests towards Amidala. From what I can gather, the people present were John (our Lead Engineer), Linda (our writer), Pam and myself (I think Pam and myself we're just laughing along).
