Serious topic, but if it seems a bit daft lock it up and throw away the key.

What happened to Anakin's severed limbs? The reason why I ask is that, as I understand it, they would have contained midichlorians and, although I assume that the midis die when the host dies, surely thay would have survived long enough to be scooped up and saved somehow?

I mean, they's some strong, force full midichlorians. Could they be used for experimentation?

    Anyway, just a thought.

    K out...

I figured they fell into the magma river. Did he lose his other arm? I only remember his legs going.

One good arm, two good legs. All gone. Just had his robot arm for company at the end.

I'd like to know what happened to his internal organs? Like his heart and his lungs...are they all artificial now?

Lungs... I'd say yes. Pretty bad smoke damage occurs when you are a human fireball, and of course, Vader's famous assisted breathing...

Heart? Naw, he saved Luke. He did have a heart in there (somewhere)

He didn't seem in that bad shape on the table to me though... Like his breathing seemed fine as the mask was coming down
And while we're on the subject, those droids didn't even take his burnt, manky trousers off before they attached his new legs! I can't think that's hygenic!

I bet that terminator-vision lets him see through people's clothes though :p

Seeing the Emperor will surely be punishment for poor Vader in that case! :p

I kind of realized something. I think many people found Vader taking his first steps in the suit very "silly", because obviously they know the old Vader from the OT.

I just kind of realized, that for a person who hasn't watched the OT... That will probably be a very sad, and scary moment. Vader being kind of overwhelmed with anger of the death of Padme, and then on top of it all, not being able to move correctly with the new suit. Crippled.

    It's a sad thought.

Am I the only one who really enjoyed the "Nooooooo!"?
It is nescessary to put it in there. Anakin/ Vader has to express being upset after failing at keeping Padmé alive- the real reason he went over to the dark side.

Also, it continued the tradition of "Nooooooo!"s in the SAGA:

TPM: Obi Wan in reaction to Qui-Gon getting stabbed by Maul's blade
AOTC: Qui-Gon's spirit Yoda senses during the events of the Tusken slaughtering
ANH: Luke as Obi Wan gets "killed" by Vader
TESB: Luke in reaction to the family confession link
ROTJ: Luke in reaction to Vader's plan of seducing Leia to turn to the dark side

    Cool, aye?

Well, what about the other organs? He obviously doesn't eat so how else would they keep him alive. Yes, I'm very interested in this. :p

Billy_Dee_Binks, thats friggin awesome. I hadnt made that connection. (I like the "Nooooo!!")

According to the book, Anakins limbs roll into the lava and ignite. Obi-Wan watches them burn up.
I might think that was too gruesome for the movie, but IMO it campares equally with watching them get cut off. Or a beheading.

I'm sure I'll be frame-by-framing that scene on DVD.

How do you know Vader doesn't eat? I always figured he just did his eating and pooping while in a hyberbaric chamber so he could take his suit off.

I mean, they's some strong, force full midichlorians. Could they be used for experimentation?

You know, I've been seriously wondering if any Sith ever tried killing Jedi and injecting themselves with the blood of their victims to attempt to boost their midichlorian count. :p

To note, from the Darth Side:

For lunch: leek soup and toss salad. I took my meal alone in my chambers, my gaze cast out over Endor's forest moon below as I enjoyed Pla'ateth's Concerto for Laserphone in D minor, a new recording from Muunilinst Grammophon with thirty-two distinct spatio-aural channels (and four additional channels left over for direct psychoneurotropic input, if that is your cup of tea -- myself, I am too old fashioned). Impressive. Most impressive.

i was surprised that Anakin's limbs were pure robotic while Luke's hand was human-like. In AOTC, they can do almost all the same things in the ESB-era except make life-like hands. weird..

Yes, you're right, Jedi-Anakin-Solo. And thanks for the remarks that I pointed that out. I came up with the connection just as I wrote my reply. Now who yells "Nooooo!" in ROTJ? The Executor Star Destroyer Commander? Our band of heroes as they fall down from the Ewok trap? Everyone in Jedi seems to yell "Ahhhh!".

No wait...hold on. I just played that scene and it sounds more like NAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA than 'Never' to me. Kind of a scream and not a word.

Plus it is interesting that in ROTS the NOOOOOOOOOOO is probably the moment where Vader truly commits himself to the Dark Side forever. And in ROTJ the NAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA is the moment where Luke temporarily goes Dark to defeat Vader.

I was always under the impression that Vaders suit was self sufficent that it was able to provide him with assisted breathing and nutritional needs, an entral feed if you will. Becuase becuase of his injuries and impaired breathing Anakin would be at a mayjor risk for aspiration due to this. So perhaps he is nourished through some kind of a feeding tube directly through the suit? Okay, It barely makes sense but it makes sense to me becuase I have seen alot of medical things in my day ;)

Yes, I agree. That's what I have always thought. Feeding tube or IV or something.

Medically speaking, the Vader suit doesn't make a whole lot of sense. You can lose limbs and be burned and don't need to dress up like a samarai in an iron lung. He was only on fire for a short while, which damaged his skin obviously, and his good looks, but he really didn't have any reason to have inhalation injury that would be serious enough to require assisted breathing. He is breathing on his own before the Emperor arrives, then we see him transported with a mask on, but then he has surgery without the mask, and we see him breathing! So apparently he can ventilate himself enough for long periods of time without assistance, again making issue of assisted breathing make less sense.

Typically people who are intubated or have impaired levels of consciousness are at risk for aspiration, so again, other than his need to have his helmet on (which he takes off in his little chamber in TESB) he should be able to eat fine.

Also, at the time he is suited up, he has active burns. Apparently that will just heal on its own inside the suit and maybe morphine gets injected automatically too, because that probably doesn't feel real good.

The suit doesn't make complete sense, but I have no problem with it because its SW and everything doesn't need to be explained perfectly.

Of course, there is a darker explanation; that Sidious actually had a few bits taken out during surgery. To make him more dependent on his suit, and therefore more of a servant and less of a threat... o_O
