At the 32nd Annual People's Choice awards,ROTS won for Favorite Movierama and Favorite Movie.George Lucas himself was on hand to accept the award,which was presented to him by Harrison Ford.Star Wars rocks the house!

An empty award. Who wouldn't expect this.

I want to see the Academy Awards give a special Oscar to Lucas for the Saga. It is not unprecedented. The Industry big-whigs owe him for 25 years of Box Office. Movies would be dead without Lucas.

It may not be a huge surprise given how popular SW was this year,but it must have shocked the hell out of the 'No One Likes SW Anymore' crowd,and I think that's partially why I'm glad that it did win.

I'd also like to see Lucas get some kind of recognition from the Academy(beyond technical awards). I'm doubtful that he ever will,but here's hoping.

I don't agree that it is an empty award. I think this is probably more important to Lucas than something from the academy because it was voted on by the fans.
