Rune's voice change?

I don't know if anyone noticed this or not, but Rune Haako's voice changed between 'Phantom Menace' and 'Attack of the Clones.'

In 'Phantom Menace' one of his lines is: "Have you ever encountered a Jedi Knight before, sir?" This is during the opening scene where he and Nute Gunray are trying to kill Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan using destroyer droids.

In 'Attack of the Clones' his only line is: "We must get the cores of our ships back into space." This is during the Geonosis Command Center scene where Nute Gunray and Dooku are surprised with the large army the Jedi came up with. Rune?s voice is deeper and distinctively different from the previous movie.

Now, there have been arguments about the character voices in 'Phantom Menace' being racially stereotyping. So was this change a response to address the issue?

Any thoughts?

 

As far as I know, that wasn't Rune in AOTC. It was some other Trade Federation advisor. Nobody knows what happened to Rune after TPM.

 

That character is the big mystery of AOTC.

- the script says it is Rune Haako
- the visual dictionary & EU say it is Gilramos Libkath
- the end credits & OS Databank say it is LottDodd

Since he looks & sounds different, I still believe he's a new character, named Gilramos Libkath

His name is Gilramos Libkath.

 

I miss Rune. He had such a cool voice.

 

Yeah, and one of the latest Ask The Jedi Council answers seem to indicate they name him Lott Dod.

 

Even so Lott Dodd sounds different in AOTC than he did in TPM.

 

Well I'd have to say it's either Lott Dodd or the new guy. He looks almost identical to Lott but he has a new voice, indicating it's a new character.

I'm gonna say it's Lott Dodd.

 

He doesn't look much like Dodd. His face is more angular. Its Gilbitam Libbikahh or whatever.

 

Yeah, he looks nothing like Lott Dod.

 

aw! I really liked Rune's voice, too! I can hear him in my head right now...he really helped define the feeling of the TPM intro...just because i'm so used to hearing him in it.

but this new guy sounds really weird! the others sound like they have asian accents, but this guy just sounds like the exorcist child. I was just, 'whoaa!' when he first opened his mouth. 'honey, relax!'. lol. sounded demonic.

Actually he sounds more like when you slow someone's voice down. Nasty stuff!

 

I say he looks like Lott Dodd because there wearing almost identical clothing.
