Though I was glad to see a black actor finally get some more play aside from Billy Dee as Lando, what did you really think of Sam Jackson's acting in Both I and II. Was he dry to you, could you take him seriously?

What was the real reason he got that gig? Was George Lucas a fan of his? Was it a old favor somoeone owed somebody?

Was his performance strong or weak? What other African American Actor could of done Mace justice? Lawrence Fishburne?

I liked his performance. Especially when confronting Dooku in the arena. His lightsaber skills are a little strange, but I think he did a good job overall. I can't picture anyone else in the role either.

Sammy's the man. He's one of the best actors around, because he can do so much, and he can do it so perfectly. Where he shines is playing the badass. If I had to cast a movie that called for a badass, my first pick is Mr. Jackson. He's got that "don't screw with me" look.

As for how he got the gig, I seem to remember hearing about how he was always a massive fan of Star Wars and I think he actually sought out George when he heard about the sequels and asked if he could have a part in it.

He amused me... is that a bad or a good thing?

I thought he did a very good job of playing the part.

Batgirl: He ammused you? Hmmmm, I guess I can kinda see how that happens, although I'm not sure that was how his character was meant to come across.

He's wooden - extremely wooden as Mace Windu, IMO.

And this is coming from a big fan of his - I usually think he does awesome work.

It certainly isn't one of SLJ's best performances, but I thought he did an alright job.

I see him, I think Jedi Master. I thought he was great in both films and loved seeing him creep up in his jedi clarks and momentarily scare the bejeesus out of Jango.

Actually one of my favorite bits isn't even in the film. Its that little part where he and Obi-Wan are walking towards the starfighter and talking about Anakin. It works so much better for me than the bit with the both of them and Yoda, even if the graphics aren't fully complete.

Mace adds weight to the film and fights without fear. I can't wait to see him in EpIII. Actually, somebody mentioned that he will die during the final clone war. Is this true?

strange as this may sound, seeing him bald bothers me for some reason...i have no idea why.

i thought he finally came alive during the clone war...he's not the type who looks good being "meditative" or "thoughtful".

He's a good addition though...he'd probably be the first jedi to drop his lightsaber and go for a good old-fashioned fist fight instead. ;) Him and Han would get along REAL well.

Pretty good, but I think he should take ballet so he appears lighter on his feet, for the action scenes.

Isn't there a picture of SLJ with greying moustache and sideburns?

    That would have been cool.

I think he´s great as Mace.
About how he got the part: According to Sam, he asked George if he could get a small part in Star Wars. Then he got to the set and they started putting these Jedi robes on him and suddenly he was sitting there with Yoda at his side!

    Pretty cool

I think he did a fine job. Every other movie I have seen him in besides SW he has done an awesome job though, which leads me to believe the part just isn't right for him or it's just the same as the other actors problems, GL's directing. Since SLJ is so good in all his other movies, I can only assume that the way he comes across in the SW movies is exactly the way GL wants him to come across. It's not his fault if you don't like his acting in the SW movies, it's GL's because he is a great actor.

They all act differently than usual, because GL wants that 30´s style acting.

Sam Jackson is an incredible actor. In the same year as AOTC, he gives a blazing performance in Changing Lanes. In Pulp Fiction and Jackie Brown, he was amazing. But once he hits Star Wars (PT) he becomes invisible (not in a good way).

I know Sam is a big fan of these movies, so I can't say it's his lack of interest. I blame George, once again, on this one. It was his rightful duty to create a more comforting atmosphere for the actors to work in. Instead, he sticks actors in front of bluescreens for hours (god Im sick of those things). It seems only Chris Lee fared well against those menacing walls of blue.

Mace has been an utterly dissapointing and trivial character thus far. And in regards to acting, remember what Spielberg said -- "actors feed off of the electricty in a room with other real actors and real props and walls." Using too much bluescreen is stupid.

I must be blind. I just can´t see the supposedly stilted acting in Star Wars.

    Amen Lars.

Jackson smoulders for the camera. He has great screen presence in AOTC IMO.

Neither good nor OK. I think Sam Jackson, as Mace Windu, stinks like the proverbial Reek. Everytime he's onscreen the movie loses all credibility in the 'illusion of reality' department.

Neither can I. I think everyone are absolutely awesome playing their characters. Sam, Ewan, Ian, Natalie, Hayden... all of them are brilliant.

I wanted so badly for him to give his "Great Vengance" speech from Pulp Fiction when he was confronting Dooku in the Jedi Arena.

I agree with Ree Yees. Sam just doesn't seem right for the role. He looks too pissed all the time.

I was kind of dissapointed of him in TPM, but think he does excellent work in AOTC.
