The ROTS novel mentions him a few time, but I couldn't find anything about him.

    ....Who is he?

He was an assistant to Palpatine from the earliest EU novels (mentioned in Cloak of Deception) and continuing throughout the Imperial Era. After Palpatine's death, he was one of the most powerful men in the Empire, at least politically, and IIRC, he was in control of Coruscant/Imperial Center for a while after the Emperor's death.

Was he evil pre-Imperial days? Like helping Sidious/Palpatine behind the scenes, or, was he just an assistant, and "fell in" with him [like falling into the wrong crowd] when Palpatine became Emperor?

Sate Pestage was one of Palpatine's most loyal followers. Much more devoted than that johnny-come-lately Vader. He served Palpatine for most of the latter's political career, and was one of the few people who knew of Palpatine's Sith identity. After the formation of the Empire, he was rewarded for his years of humble service by being appointed Grand Vizier. He scheduled all of Palpatine's meetings, held the Imperial Seal, managed the Emperor's household, and tasted the Emperor's food for poison. His most important duty, however, was as the "keeper of the keys." Anyone who wanted to see the Emperor, even Darth Vader, had to go through him first. There's a theory that he was a clone of the Emperor, but I don't buy into that: their faces are too different. His power was so great that by the time of TESB, he was basically running the Empire.

You might say that I'm a bit of a fan.

Prince-Admiral Krennel murdered Pestage's clone in Mandatory Retirment.

And an outstanding comic it was.

There were two Pestages, on eon Coruscant and Byss, but it has never been said who was the clone. I'd say the Byss was the real one.

he was character from TESB that was cut from the script

he was meant to be the grand vizier, and vader was to commun with him instead ofthe emperor, the character part inthe script was cut although
he wasphysically shown in ROTJ , one of palpatines lacky on DS2

u can check this in starkiller website, go to the script of the TESB
or go to TBone star wars website and go to deleted scene for TESB

i think that he was discussed in this thread Emperorès Legions

SWCCG [Decipher's CCG game] has the two lackeys on the DS-II as Sim Aloo and Janus Greejatus [sp? on that last one].

So who all are Palpatine's advisors through-out the ages?

    EP-III:
[and EP1 and 2] Mas Amedda
    Sly Moore

    EP-6:
    Sim Aloo
    Janus Greejatus

As for Sate: I thought I only saw 2 onboard the DS-II, or was there 3?

Kren Blista-Vanee has one of the most delightfully odd names of all the Imperial Advisors. My favorite would have to be Ars Dangor, though.

I've only got an action figure of Janus Greejatus, I'm afraid. :( *sniffle*

Sate wasnt in the death star, his main place was Coruscant, he was sort of the emperor's public person, he took the public place of palpatine, so whenever palpatine had anything to say to "the people" Sate would say it in public, also handled most of the government, whenever palps was being more sithy than imperial. He was probably in Coruscant during the Endor Battle

Didn't they say that it was Pestage who told the galaxy at large about the creation of the Empire?

He might have been a speech writer but Palpatine obviously did it.

Sate's role is getting a tad overemphasized for my tastes
