I remember reading sometime back that in the SFBC version of A.C. Crispin's Han Solo Trilogy that either the Epiloge or Prologue to one of the books was not included.

Have there been any other errors with SFBC versions of Star Wars books?

Did they ever fix the Han Solo Trilogy in future printings?

I'm not sure. I already have The Han Solo Trilogy, so I won't be purchasing it from them. You'll have to get someone else to answer that one. :)

You may get an answer if you e-mail their support people.

"The Hut Gambit" is missing the epilogue. I read a post by Ann Crispin and she said that sadly it was never fixed, nor is it likey to be.

Its missing the epilogue ? I never knew that I got my copy from the SFBC several years ago.

Well other than just hearing aboutthat I've never noticed any problems with the SFBC editions. I've been a member since 1998.

I have a question involving sfbc...
Will the Force Heretic trilogy be released in one volume?

One can only assume, but I'm guessing they probably will, since that's what they've done with everyone else.

The only difference is that FH is 3 books, not the normal duology that they've been printing. It wouldn't surprise me if they split it into two parts instead of three and print two hardcovers. I'm a little surprised that DJ and Traitor weren't printed as a duology by SFBC. It's fairly obvious that the two books go together well. Also, when you place all the other duologies together side by side, the binding designs match. Looking at DJ and Traitor side by side, they have the same design. The only thing is that Traitor was released well after DJ with the Enemy Lines books in-between. Anyway, I'm just ranting now, but it seems somewhat logical to me to print those two books together as a hardback.

So, for those of you who are members of the SFBC, is it any cheaper than buying the books in stores? Can you get them when they come out in stores (I'm talking the regular HC here, not the collections), or do you have to wait a few months?

They come out the same time in the club as in the store, and it only cost me $18 total to get a hardcover, as opposed to my $28 normally.

Has anyone actually done the comparisons to see if things were left out?

Do any of the scifi editions contain the eBooks that are collected with the paperback novels?

No, no ebooks, since their hardcovers typically come out at the same time as the real hardcovers.

Is it worth the price of membership if you don't buy anything except for the SW hardcovers?

Well, the only price your really paying is the shipping of the free books, and the cost & shipping over the 2 or 3 other books you have to buy within 2 years to fulfill your membership requirements. So, yeah, I think it's worth it- especially since you can fulfill the requirements on SW books alone.

I have all the SFBC versions (compilations of the paperbacks that is) andonly difference between ths SFBC versions an paperback versions that I have noticed hss been the exclusion of the epilogeu from "The Hutt Gambit". One other thing, for some reason they have not offered any of the "X-Wing" books, "Tales from the Empire", or "Tales from the New Republic" in hardcover forms.
Here's a list of all the S.W. hardcovers that they have offered so far (other than those things that were originally sold in stores as hardcovers) if anyone is interested.
    Original Del Rey Stuff
    -Star Wars (1977 version)
-The Empire Strikes Back (1980 version)
-Return of the Jedi (1983 version)
    -Splinter of the Mind's Eye
    -Han Solo at Star's End
    -Han Solo's Revenge
-Han Solo and the Lost Legacy
-Lando Calrissian and the Mindharp of Sharu
-Lando Calrissian and the Flamewind of Oseon
-Lando Calrissian and the Starcave of ThonBoka (This is the only one I don't have, so if anyone knows of a SFBC harcover copy. please let me know)
-The Star Wars Trilogy (Original 3 movies)

    Bantam Era stuff
-Star Wars Tales (Contains: Tales From
the Mos Eisley Cantina, Tales from
Jabba?s Palace, and Tales of the Bounty Hunters)

    -Under Black Sun
    (collects volumes 12-14)

note that alot of the books that they have carried over the years are out of print now, so hunting them down by Ebay if you wanted them might be a better option.

Yeah, the only SFBC-edition hardcover books (that aren't available as a regular hardover) that are currently available are the 6 NJO ones and BHW trilogy.

Ok, I've taken a look at the SFBC webpage, read the FAQ, looked at the Star Wars selection, and tried to view the membership agreement.

However, the FAQ is somewhat vague, and I've still got a few questions:

Can you choose among any of the Star Wars books for your up-to-five-books-for-a-dollar initial membership offer?

What are the shipping charges for your first five books?

What are the shipping charges for regular SFBC purchases? (such as hardcover, Essential Guides, etc.)

Can anyone post a copy of the membership agreement? I can't seem to access it.

To my knowledge you can choose from any of the books they have available to fill your initial order.

What are the shipping charges for your first five books?

It's been a couple of years for me, but I think it was around $15.

What are the shipping charges for regular SFBC purchases? (such as hardcover, Essential Guides, etc.)

Shipping charges are usually a couple of bucks a book it seems. That seems to be where they make some of their money.

    Hope that helps!

    >> Can you choose among any of the Star Wars books for your up-to-five-books-for-a-dollar initial membership offer?<<

Yes, and in fact, if your planning to get all the SW titles, I'd reccomend lining up the more expensive ones (such as the BHW trilogy and duologies) and leave the cheaper stand alone ones (DJ or Traitor) to buy seperately

    >>What are the shipping charges for your first five books?<<

    About 15 or 16 dollars.

Hmm. I've got most of the NJO books, I'd probably be getting the Essential Guides and the upcoming hardcovers.

Does anyone have a copy of the membership agreement?

One thing you need to know. All SFBC S.W. hardcovers are about an inch or so shorter than the retail versions. I'm not sure why that is exactly, but it doesn't get mentioned that much.
