Scooby-Doo, A Bastion of Sexual Immorality?

So, I was reading the wikipedia article on Scooby-Doo and I got to his family.

Considering the similarities of name I have to assume they're on the same side of the family, naturally I'm shocked at this incestuous relationship on a children's program and will be writing PTC immediately! If they're putting open incest in Scooby-Doo, what can we say about the moral fiber of our great country?

They have different last names. There's not necessarily blood relations between cousins of cousins.

Of course it was a bastion of immorality. Forget the possible canine incest, how about two guys and two girls living in a van. Tell me there wasn't some 'sharing' going on there.

And we all know what the secret ingredient in scooby snacks was supposed to be.

 

Dude, that's creepy enough without the dog incest thing.

I never understood why the "Mystery Machine People" seemed to take a talking dog in stride.

SHAGGY: Hey, Fred, this dog followed me all the way back to the Mystery Machine. Think we can bring him along?

SCOOBY: I'm 'Rooby-Doo!

DAPHNE: [screams her head off while pointing in horror at the talking canine]

[Shaggy and Fred stare in total disbelief. Scooby appears nervous and confused, unable to understand why his simple greeting has generated such a response]

VELMA: I--It--It...It has to be some kind of...I don't know, military experiment or something. Maybe there's a chip in it's head. Maybe someone is talking through it by radio from a nearby facility. Maybe--

SCOOBY: Ruh-roh! Rut's wrong?

[Daphne faints]

FRED: It's possessed! IT'S THE DEVIL! KILL IT! KILL IT NOW!!!


Something like that would have added depth to the character.
