StarWars.com has announced that there will be 5 new episodes in the Clone Wars microseries. They will begin on March 21 2005 and will be 12 minutes long. Fans of General Grievous will be pleased to hear that he has an expanded role in the new series. To read the whole article for yourself Click Here

Edit: Oops, they start March 21 2005 not March 25 2005. BTW, I just noticed that they will air from March 21 2005 to March 25 2005 which means no long waits between episodes.

It will be the best week in March EVER! Thankfully they didn't split up as a Friday, Monday-Thursday type of deal. They're getting smarter.

Crap, this means I need to renew my Hyperspace!

Very cool news- I like how they've broken a 60 minute season into five 12 minute long episodes, instead of the twenty 3 minute long episodes of the original season.

I wonder if they'll resolve the Chapter 20 cliffhanger in these new episodes or if that'll be left to other sources to wrap up.

The press release says it'll pick up where Chapter 20 left off, but who knows really.

Definitely cool news. I'm kinda iffy on the 12-minute thing - it'll be interesting, but I really liked the 3-minute vignettes. STAR WARS is always best in small doses - we get two hours every three years. Too much and you start to dilute it.

Sounds kick ass!!!!! Hopefully it'll have some EPIII lead-in's, looks, and designs! It is premiring in March 2005, not long before EPIII hits theaters.

This is great news, I am expecting these episodes to surpass the quality of the previous two seasons.

I demand a fourth season!!!! I demand it!!!

    :p :p

Seriously, this is wonderful news! I didn't give much credence to all the speculation because I assumed if they had ever planned on doing a third season they would've just announced it at the start. Anyway!, it seems like that was a foolish thing to think - maybe they were just waiting on the success of the first two seasons, I don't know, or maybe it has always been planned as a wonderful surprise for fans... who knows? All I know is YES!!!!

The twelve minute thing is a great thing in my opinion, and is definately a product of the success of the first two seasons... they're more confident that Clone Wars can hold a longer time slot now, which hopefully doesn't just speak of their popularity, but also for stepping it up another knotch in quallity (which will be hard).

As Anakin Skywalker might put it:

    YIPPEE!!!

Good news I guess. I'm not a huge fan of the art, but it is more clone wars, and I'm very happy for that. Hopefully it will clear up a couple of things, like how the other Jedi escaped.

Is that art on TOS new?

    This is fantastic.

I'm probably more happy about five 12-minute chapters than twenty 3-minute chapters.

Looks like C-3PO will be back to, as Anthony Daniels has apparently been contacted to do more.

I'm still hoping for my flashback Muunilinst episode, showing Voolviv Monn in action, but I dobt very much I'll see it :(

Anyway, what's really weird is that I'm looking forward to this more than Episode 3 right now

    EDIT: Which art Trilobite[/i]?

Do you think they'll have the same character designs or will characters look more like there Episode III versions now? I'm hoping for long-haired Anakin.

The 12-minute episodes will give G.T. a little more room to breathe with the plot and pacing.

    Perhaps after EP3...

The Clone Wars will be over after Episode III though, won't they? I thought that's why we were getting the series, because the CW are an important event in glactic history, but there's not a lot of film-time devoted to them...

Besides, LFL will have a whole host of other spin-offs lined up by then ;)

Actually, I was thinking more along the lines of another cartoon that takes place after the Clone Wars.

Awsome. Although I wish we didn't have to wait that long.
