A short story of sorts that is directly linked to my other fan fic, Dark Interventions. I hope that everyone likes it. :D

Note: I am willing to let people who have thoroughly read through my fics to write in the Mask of the Sith series. You just have to show a good level of knowledge in the series. :D

    Title: Secret Origins
    Author: DarkDroid
Summery: The Yevetha attempt to create the ultimate warrior from the remains of what they believed to be a Jedi Knight.
Notes: Happens about 200 years before Dark Interventions. Story will be posted in sections, rather than chapters.

The crude scent of medical fluids swept his senses abruptly, filling his nostrils with vile taste. It felt as if he was floating in mid air, suspended by a mystic force. His single eye flickered and his pupil burned with the stinging sensation of a cold liquid against his face. He soon realized he had no nostrils. In place of a nose, he had a triangular filter full of smell receptors capable of transmitting natural senses to the neural center, his brain. But if it felt as if he had a nose but he didn?t, how could he tell if he had a brain anymore and in its place a memory core? He wondered why he only had one eyeball, placed at the left half of his face, or a single eye socket for that matter. He could not feel the right side of his face at all. Nor could he feel anything below his neck.

    Then he saw them.

They were sinewy creatures walking upright, wearing black tunics and robes. Their faces were obscured by the fluids that blinded his vision. He could see their technology. They were much like the ones at home, he thought. Computers with blurry interfaces and beakers full of precious chemicals. He could see the tubes that stretched from his mouth and into the piece of machinery that kept him stabilized within his? what was he in, he wondered?

A suspension module maybe? Or rather a bacta tank?

No, he thought, he was in a beaker himself, much like the dangerous chemicals he saw on those tables. He also soon realized that he did not have a mouth, but a breath mask. He could now feel the movement of gears and levers inside that allowed him to breathe. The tubing was simply there to make sure these mechanical fixtures were working properly. Suddenly, his vision widened, and turned red. He could see tactical analyzers form in his eye sight, much like the ones found in a targeting computer. Images and text messages flashed on and off as he started to panic. He started asking himself questions in a flurry of fear. Where was he? Who was he?

    What was he?

Thanks Avalon! I promise, though, it'll get much more darker than that. :D

?The test subject is experiencing difficulty coping with the temperature change. I am initiating the neutral stabilization sequence now,? the director stated, recording his every word into a comlink.

The skeleton like framework of the alien walked towards a set of controls. He bobbed his ridged skull slightly as he grabbed for a lever, pulling it downwards. A measuring probe indicated the drop in temperature. The warming phase was too extreme for the test subject, causing him to act abnormally and inadequate. The decreasing warmth eased, or rather froze, the test subject into a calmer state. The alien scientist was immediately alarmed when a strange monotonous beeping occurred. He quickly hunched over towards the panel to his right, clicking buttons until the sounding alert was cleared. He wasn?t hesitant to push several others. Emergency lights blinked on the status screen.

?The vitals of the test subject are failing,? he said into his recording comlink, ?Status critical. Test subject is going into a state of permanent hibernation.?

The lights flashed on and off at a faster rate, causing the scientist to dread the uncertainty of the near future. He scrambled to pull another lever, but that had only increased the danger. He called for his underlings to help. They rushed towards the direct controls placed on the test subject?s containment tube, turning dials and knobs impatiently. The lead director started to worry.

?We must not let him die. The darama will have our blood!? he claimed, letting his hostile instincts take over as he pushed one of his learners to the floor. The underling was knocked unconscious when his body fell with a deafening thud. His brain cage became critical as it shattered against the metal floor. The much more experienced yet violent scientist took over the controls, leveling the amount of pressure within the glass container. But he had failed?

The artificial heart-rate of the test subject faltered, and soon, became withered and gone. The memory cores had been severely damaged and the hydraulic joints became limp. The lead scientist slammed his fists against the controls in anger, ?How can this be? How can we let the ultimate warrior die?? he said, turned towards his remaining underling. He raised his left arm, ready to bring it upon his assistant?s skull. Instead, he cocked his wrist back, allowing for a long, sharp object to slide from a tiny slit in his forearm; a dewclaw. He swung his organic blade, slicing through the throat of his inferior minion. Blood was spilled and it smeared the director?s dewclaw. After the assistant just garbled out a curse and dropped dead before his superior, the director licked his blade before it had slid back into place.

?I most certainly hope that the darama will not be angered,? he calmly said, retreating back to a set of controls. Now he had to dispose of three dead bodies. Two of which he cannot be held accounted for. He began to drain the med fluid keeping the lifeless experiment floating in his obsolete prison. Once the liquid was gone, the body fell to the bottom of its tank in a slump. Wires became unattached as the sheer weight of the test subject?s body brought them down.

Before the director could use the switch to open the tank, something horrible went wrong.

I liked the latest chapter... :D Very mysterious. The first chapter was from the ultimate warriors POV, right? ?[face_plain] (Poor Jedi, whoever he is...) And as always, I'd 'ppreciate some more story, whenever you get the chance to write more. ;)

His heart pumped with vigor once more, and then again and again, until he could regain feeling of his body of cold metal plating and flexible joints. He didn?t even know if he still had a heart, or the sense of touch and feeling. What if it was all a simulation of his new body?

He was more machine now than man. He was a twisted and evil creation of an unknown alien species. His optical eye flashed red, examining the flailing skeleton-like alien before him, outside his prison. Data screens encrypted in a strange alien language flashed across his vision in a blur, yet he understood the information. His mind, or rather a memory core, told him that they were the Yevetha. A fearless species understood to be the greatest ever created in the face of the Glory. They are called the ?Yevetha?. Skeleton shaped and well crafted to survive the poorest conditions of underground communities that had started with the one that they called the Great One, the savior of the Yevetha. The Yevetha appeared to be complex creatures. They have six fingers, including a long claw that would poke through a slit in their forearm, and they give birth to their infants much like insects. They were called blood casks instead of pupae, and they would latch onto their mother?s back and become infused with their parent?s blood. They are the superior class of sentients in the Galaxy. They only know victory, honor and blood. Their society is considered the most well developed on this side of the Galaxy. They were the greatest to ever live.

No, he told himself, not even paying attention to the draining fluids, that?s what these creatures want me to think. They?re telling me to think this. It is all lies. The greatest beings to ever live? were the Sith.

It was all lies, all of it. Every single data screen provided him with lies, not facts. Nothing of importance was to be found. He would teach these creatures a lesson. They are unable to comprehend the truth.

A lesson that would teach them never to resurrect a Dark Lord of the Sith.

    ---

The tedious beeping of the status screen began once more to the director?s surprise. He retreated from the main controls and towards the secondary controls, pondering on what happened. The Yevetha scientist almost commenced the fluid stage once more, when he heard a snap. He looked towards the tank, which appeared to splinter before his very eyes.

Glass shards flew from every which direction as he saw the test subject stand on its two robotic legs, with the top half of the beaker destroyed. Lights blinked everywhere on its mechanical body, looking as if though they were placed randomly. Its head was cylindrical in shape with a smooth, rounded top. Part of the left was pure flesh and bone, the only remnants from the clone that the Yevetha had used to produce this cyborg. Its only real eye blinked, while its heat receptive optical eye flashed bright red as it turned its head. The triangular receptor was located underneath the two eyes, connected with two breathe tubes that pumped vital chemicals into the cyborg.

Finally, the test subject?s prison had shattered completely.

    Daaaaayam!
Your characters must hate you. It's like you imagined the worst possible situation, and made it get worse from there. Very good. (muahahaha!)

    Oh and this:
    "Then something horrible went wrong."

I don't know what to think about that statement - whether it makes sense or not - but it's awesome notheless.

    Keep it up, man.

The immaculate surface of his new body was finally exposed to the outside world after months of cruel tests and suspended animation. Finally, he was free, and it felt great to walk once more amongst the living.

He forgot that he was more droid than flesh for a moment or two when he stepped down from the staging area where his concealment once was. He crushed the broken glass under his robotic feet. He could hear the shatter of glass and the thud of metal as he walked towards his prey; the vile alien that had transformed him into this mechanical horror.

He enjoyed depriving the Yevetha of life, squeezing its brain cage with strong, robotic arms. His mechanized limbs moaned with each movement as he threw the dead alien aside. Then he gave into his hatred; he began to destroy what he had come to hate during the past few minutes of his new life. Computer?s sparked and beakers exploded, and he needed not to touch one object in the entire room to do so.

With a thought he was able to crush every inanimate object within the laboratory. Blue electricity engulfed the room, but his naked droid body was able to repel the vicious tendrils of raw energy flickering about. Fire began to shed heat as chemicals mixed, but ultimately, he knew nothing was able to stop him now. For the Dark Side was his ally?

The burning flames continued to erupt, waving in the air as he moved swiftly to what appeared to be the entrance? or exit in this case? to the laboratory. Not surprisingly, the blast doors were sealed tightly. The Yevetha must?ve activated a locking mechanism when he had broken from his prison of glass. He tried to open the door anyways. His iron grip began to tear the obstruction apart piece by piece. Nothing was about to stand in his way, especially such a feeble obstacle.

Once he freed himself from the dark, dreary laboratory, he was suddenly ambushed by flashes of light. He recognized these weapons; blasters. It had been so long since he heard the ping of such a destructive force. He felt each and every one of the energy bolts fly by, not by hand, but by the Force. One such bolt grazed his metallic chest, leaving a black scar behind as a token of upcoming death.

Then he embraced the Dark Side, something he had not done in so long.

He held out his arms, stretching out every clawed finger on his hand. The streams of deadly energy seemed to bend towards his robotic hands. The instant when it appeared that the blaster bolts would destroy his limbs, they disappeared abruptly, turning into nothing more but mere sparks that burnt out before they even hit the floor.

He had focused so much on his defense he had not bothered to even know who his attackers were. Somehow, however, he already knew who they were. Three Yevetha, clad in crude leather pads and loincloths and marked with scars and sacred tattoos, stood in front of him. He could sense their emotions; it was fairly easy, since they only felt one thing. Fear.

He did not need weapons to dispose of these futile aliens. He only needed a thought to kill all three of them in a single swipe. One flicker, one twitch, one careless thought was all that was necessary. Of course, hatred was mandatory to produce such a fearful weapon. He dwelled upon the Dark Side, linking himself directly to the source of his anger. He pictured the future, at least his own vision of the time coming.

It was then the three Yevethan warriors, once proud and pure, fell to the floor in disgrace as the blaster bolts once did moments earlier. He was filled with euphoria. He would?ve smiled had it not been for this abomination of a breath mask. And if he could smile, it would be filled with torment and evil, twisted and insane with power and greed.

Two more Yevetha were dispatched against him, upon hearing the sounds of battle from deeper within the dark corridors. They too quickly became meaningless memories with just one wicked thought of death.

Imagery flickered past his abiotic mind, pictures of pain, suffering and death. He soon realized, the Dark Side had given him a

The darama had word of the experiment?s escape.

He sat on his throne, slamming his fists onto the armrests. ?There is treachery within our walls. I will not tolerate such disobedience. Where are my warriors assigned to that section of the Underground?? he demanded, speaking in his native tongue.

The proctor standing before the elaborately dressed Viceroy answered quickly, careful not to displease his superior. ?They are not responding to our calls, darama. They must have been killed by the wandering experiment.?

The Viceroy growled, tightening his grip on his throne. His sharp claws scratched the scarlet polyester-like surface of his seat's armrests as he tried to contain his growing anger, digging into the fluffy interior. ?We are supposed to have control of the experiment, proctor. This was not supposed to happen. Where is Primate Sha Sunra??

?He should be arriving shortly, darama. He is perplexed by the current situation. Proof that this chaos has claimed the mind of our greatest warrior.? The proctor explained.

?Do not spread the word. Conjure only the best warriors we have. Send them all down there at once! I want a progress report in half a standard hour.? The darama hissed, pointing a boney finger at the proctor.

?Yes, darama, it shall be done.? The proctor bowed a left, leaving the Viceroy to ponder about the situation.

    ---

    Where was his weapon?

He wanted? or rather needed it? badly. He missed gripping its wondrous hilt, igniting its deadly, crimson blade. He missed the shimmering light and the burning scent of his enemies as they became victims to his seemingly invincible weapon. He missed the intensity of hand to hand combat, and the sweet taste of victory.

His feet clattered against the polished, metallic floor as he guided himself through the complex maze of hallways. He turned left, then right, and left again. The agony of impatience was beginning to eat his sane conscious away. Like a burning candle, he kept himself aroused and awakened by dwelling on the fuel known as vengeance. But he wanted rest.

It was then he realized why did he want to rest now? Wasn?t he a machine? Wasn?t he? unstoppable?

He didn?t need to rest? he only wanted to rest.

It was foolishness at first; a droid with Dark Side powers; able to summon the Force with a simple thought command. But it all came into reality now, instead of imagination.

He found his way, to a strange room similar to the one he was in beforehand, digging deep within the Force. The Dark Side guided him like a glowing string through the maze. He was surprised that he had not encountered any kind of resistance. Maybe the creatures were stupider than he had originally anticipated, lost in their own trap of a maze.

But he was also in shock when he met with an entire squad of feeble warriors cross paths with him once he entered the spherical shaped room. He saw them withdraw blades from their wrists. Dewclaws, he immediately thought.

If he had his weapon with him, he could?ve cut them down within seconds.

It was then he realized he only wanted his lightsaber? he didn?t need it?
