Senate chamber from the trailer

As those who have seen the trailer know, the crap is going to get kicked out of the Senate chamber. Sidious and Yoda are going to fight in it, and Sidious is going to throw the Senate pods like frisbees.

Which makes me wonder, if that's where the Senate chamber is, and it gets destroyed in ROTS, where does the Senate hold their meetings? It lasts until ANH when the Emperor shuts it down completely, so what do you think will happen? Does the Senate function differently after the events of ROTS?

 

The Senators will walk in, say "Holy crap, what happened here last night, Chancellor?", and he'll say "More Jedi treachery... I told you they were a bunch of Traitors! We need more Red Guards!!! Oh, and I'm really gonna need to have all of you stop calling me 'Chancellor.' No, that won't do. That won't do at all. Now, 'Emperor,' on the other hand, has quite a ring to it..."

I'm curious to see how exactly the Empire works compared to the Republic.

I guess it won't be that different from having Palpatine as Supreme Chancellor, except he gets things even more hi own way.

It isn't until 20 years later that he finally dissolves the Senate...

so you're right, hopefully the Senate Chamber isn't TOO destroyed.

 

Well, there are SO MANY pods in the senate "stadium" that I would imagine they didn't mess up the WHOLE place...I guess I imagined there were only a small section of pods destroyed.

Also, there's nothing saying that whatever pods were destroyed can't simply be fixed!!!

Of course, I guess we will have the extent of the damage shown to us in due time when we see the movie.

 

He could also reassign the pods that get destroyed of worlds with a highly alien populations to say a world with a human senator and population.

 

Well the senate chamber IS still standing by the time ROTJ rolls around (new DVD release) so I imagine it's fixed up and used for something else?
