Apparently, this is the new villain for "Galactic Battlegrounds: Clone Campaign"... Dooku's apprentice, a Chiss Sith Witch, just to make sure no-one's missed out anything kewl. [face_mischief]

And with yet another variant on the issue of where the apostrophes go! Can we call her (at least, I think she's a her!) Vrancet, though?

Anyone know anything about her? Images, biography, the sort of stuff that's EU rather than games?

Val: thanks, but seriously, someone needs to really sort out Chiss naming patterns...

We have "Miith'raw'nuruodo", of House Nuruodo, whose core name is Thrawn. Then we have the core names "Stent" and "Dreel"... then we have "Shawnkyr Nuruodo", who everyone calls "Shawnkyr", though yould' expect her to be "Shawnk'yr'nuruodo" and "Kyrn"... and now we have "Sev'rance Tann", called "Tann", when "Sev'rance'tan" and "Vrancet", or "Sevrance Tan" and "Sevrance" would have precedent...

    Go figure...

    RF: I have a Mac... [face_mischief]

Actually we are talking nicknames made by the people outside the chiss space. Most people don't think about "Silly naming patterns". Dooku calls her "Tann", cause it's simple and easy. He doesn't sit around thinking "Hmm, the text book on chiss naming conventions says this and this and this, so I must call her this."

Fair enough for "Tann"... but that still doesn't explain the inconsistency in the use of apostrophes from novel to novel, or why Jag Fel calls Kyrn "Shawnkyr"...

In other words there can be more than one nickname for a character.

Perhaps jagged likes calling her Shawnkyr(maybe he likes the sound of it), and she doesn't mind being called that by him.

Sure. She protected Dooku's rear as he fled Geonosis, killing Jedi Echuu Shen-Jon's Padawan Stam in lightsabre combat. She then led an divison of Confederacy forces to clear the way for Dooku to reach his hanger.

She became his General of Confederacy Forces in the early part of the Clone Wars. She headed the effort to capture a new longrange artillery weapon being developed on Alaris Prime by the Wookiees for the Republic.

Tann was successfull and attacked Wookiee and Republic bases with the new weapons.

Echuu, recieving a new Padawan: Stam's sister, becomes a commander for the Republic. He heads to Tann's last known position and stops puts an end to the mining on the moon of . . . all right, the planet's name escapes me right now. He then heads planetside and destroys Tann's forward base before being attacked by her again. When it looks like she is about to fall, she quickly takes Echuu's Padawan and flies away.

Echuu, enraged, asks Windu for more forces to pursue. Windu is resistant, feeling the anger in his former Padawan. Echuu convinces him by pointing out that Windu did the exact same thing on Geonosis to save Kenobi. Echuu recieves a small group of soldiers and sets up base in a rampaged Wookiee settlement. He builds up his army and attacks. He confronts Tann alone to save his Padawan. He cuts down the Chiss in a rage and frees his Padawan.

His Padawan tries to convince him to return to Coruscant for healing. He admits its his destiny to fall and he remains on the planet. She tells nothing of her Master's fate when she returns to the Jedi Temple, leaving Mace Windu to wonder about his lost student.

Echuu actually survives the Jedi Purge, later helping Princess Leia when she arrives on the very planet he exiled himself on. The planet where he confronted Tann and cut her down. He died in a duel with Vader, but not before informing Leia of an ancient Jedi artifact that Luke eventually uncovers.

I could try later. IIRC, when I've taken screenshots of Galatic Battlegrounds in the past they come out with reversed colors and crap. Funny it doesn't do that on more graphics heavy games like Jedi Outcast and Neverwinter Nights.
