Thought I'd start this. So now that Shaak Ti's finally been introduced in TCW, what did everyone think of her? I don't care for the accent too much, (too many accents in this show), but I'm pretty satisfied with how she was presented, as a respectable, wise leader with compassion.

    Good idea, XCell.

That's a good topic: her new Spanish accent. [face_sick]

It's not that bad. At least the voice itself is pretty good.

XCell- Are you really that surprised he doesn't like it? This is 'Grumpy' Grievous we're talking about here after all. ;) And I agree, the voice is fine in itself. Truthfully I didn't even realize it was suppose to be Spanish until it was point out.

The voice overall isn't bad at all, the design was flawless and she had an elegant appearance to her, too bad we saw little action of Shaak Ti. We saw as much action in the trailer than we did in the episode. I doubt this will be the last time we see her this season though.

Underused, definitely, but I quite liked what they've done with her. Maybe it was the poor quality, but I hardly noticed any accent on her.

Most of her character is defined in clone cadets, and I quite liked what we saw: Shaak Ti is wise, compassionate, and observant, as she should be. Yet she isn't one who coddles people, and hopes, perhaps even expects the clones to get their act together. True, it might be common Jedi philosophy, but I personally thought it was a nice reference or nod to her heritage as a hunter species.

I just hope the show has more in store for her. :D

One of the most, if not most beautifully modelled character yet. I also think they nailed the right voice with her too. She seemed classy and calm.

I thought though....it was a missed opportunity to have her not face Grievous or Ventress. I think the Ventress and Anakin fight was a good, brutal one, so I'd probably venture to say I would've liked to see her face Grievous, if anything, it would allow them to meet face to face for the first time - if you don't count that cut scene from ROTS where Grievous was to originally kill her. Still a chance yet though.

Agreed with those who would haved liked to see her face Grievous; it would have been a nice nod to their multiple confrontations during the original animated series. In fact, before TCW introduced the Kenobi/Grievous feud throughout the war, Shaak Ti was the Jedi I most closely associated with being Grievous' main and constant Jedi rival throughout the conflict.

The one line I didn't like from Shaak Ti was 'A Jedi doesn't feel concern'. I could understand if she said 'A Jedi doesn't feel fear', but what's so bad about concern? It just seemed a bit strange because she seems compassionate in 'Clone Cadets'.

    ..And why no black eyes?

Best character model and amazing animation, but really really underused. She definitely has to come back and I hope we get some sort of interaction between her and grievous. Would love to see a redo of the original cartoon battle on hypori or even of the palpatine capture leading up into Ep.3

Only thing I can think of for reasons why she didn't get more screentime is that due to her model complexities and all the flowing robes that putting her in a saber duel may have been much more time and cost intensive compared to the simpler models of the other characters that have basic moving parts and are easy to animate.

Did she always have that long bit at the back of her head?

She did. Actually I prefered this voice above her previous universe voices. After all, it's George who decides how a character sounds, not Genndy or a TFU cast person.

^That doesn't mean his choice is better, of course (if he even does play a role in who provides the voices).

And the texture of her headtails looked pretty good, the flowing robes; they did do a rather satisfying job animating Shaak Ti, lavender eyes and all. And what a huge Jedi hood she's got. It's almost like a Barriss-cape.

She was great on the show- been a big fan of her in Genndy Tartakovsky's Clone Wars (and who wouldn't, really?) and was glad to see her return to TCW. Stylistically, I'm not a fan that they dropped the fully black alien eyeballs, but I think it was a result of Ahsoka having regular eyes and the confusion it would cause since they're from the same species.
Though, they could have explained it somehow- like if Shaak Ti was actually blind or if her species' pupils widen with age. No, I actually like the blind Shaak Ti concept better.

Her robe is quite unique the way it drapes over the shoulders and seems to have some excessive cloth in the back. So yeah, looking forward to more of her. Maybe she can interact with Ahsoka in a future episode having a bigger sister chemistry with her.

Her headtails were so fascinatingly detailed that they creeped me out a little. I was just in awe of her and I liked this representation of her more than in animated Clone Wars or The Force Unleashed.

Shaak Ti's model is the best one yet, hands down. She's right up there with Ki-Adi Mundi in terms of desugn IMO.

I loved Shaak Ti in the Kamino duology! Overall she was beautiful, I saw improvemnt with her model (especially the eyes: Black eyes have always been Kit Fisto's thing), I don't mind her Spanish accent, even though Ima-Gun also does have one. I do think it was kinda weird that they only had a few seconds of ass whooping from her, which is only one of the reasons I wanted there to be more than one Kamino Battle episode

I didn't know Spain was in Star Wars.
Not enough Shaak Ti in my opinion. How do we get even more Obi Wan vs. Grievous and barely a few shots of Shaak Ti cutting droids apart? More Shaak Ti please!

IMHO, Obi-Wan and Anakin shouldn't have even been in the episode. Shaak Ti, Bric and El Les played such an amazing part in Clone Cadets, yet the entire trio barely had any more than cameos in Arc Troopers, which made me mad. It would have been awesome to see Shaak Ti and Obi-Wan face Grievous together.

Bric and El Les weren't even in ARC Troopers. Would of loved to see them fighting side by side with the clones, maybe even have one of them die.

I thought those two appeared next to Shaak Ti in the background. And if El Les died, my life would be complete (i don't like his kind of people)

One thing bugs me about Shaak Ti's accent... if the idea is that 'each alien species gets an accent', why doesn't AHSOKA have one?

Hence why I feel that in THIS case, the accent just causes unneccessary confusion. Don't mind it as a voice, or even mind the accent per se, just the lack of internal consistency it shows.

    I loved, loved, LOVED her.

The accent is ridiculously sexy and fits her, in my opinion. I was never fond of her, but I love her now. She is mature, sexy, compassionate, wise, the quintessential Jedi Master. She gave me a good dose of Star Wars that I have been missing for a while.

American exceptionalism dictates that the star character should always have an American accent. [face_flag]

Fair point, although another may be that she was cast before they got into their wanky season one "everyone must have an accent" phase.
