From what I understand, they don't release the cues themselves as individual peices. Williams will choose what he wants to be performed, such as battle of the Heroes and will realease music for that with performance rights. Most likely, the $400 one comes with parts printed too. You'll want only the score, which should be only a fraction of the cost.

As for finding music you need, most any online place carries score or reductions of classical works, and I'm sure you can find williams stuff on places like sheetmusicplus.com, or jwpepper.com etc. basically any place you go that carries orchestral music has scores too. Just make sure you buy the scores alone, not with parts also.

so basically, you won't be able to find Anakins Betrayal anywhere. The score is owned by williams, and the only copies are probably sitting in a back room at Fox.

Buy the Battle score. Make sure you get the John Williams Signature Edition. Read it and weep the sweet, gossamer tears of savory goodness. Robert W. Smith has also arranged a RotS Symphonic Band Medley (which our concert band will be playing this semester), but it's not nearly as accurate as the JW Sig. Edition. It does, however, include the Main Title, Revenge of the Sith (battle over Coruscant), May the Force Be With You, Leia's Theme, and Battle of the Heroes (vastly truncated and very strange rhythmically). Worth checking out if you can buy just the conductor's score.

My "Battle of the Heroes" score shall be coming soon... its on backorder from musicnotes.com

So it is worth the 48 dollars and nine in shipping?

I too wish to cry sweet, gossamer tears of goodness.

Oh God yes. Every note, every instrument is there. No watering down, no arrangement. This is the real deal; THE score used for the concert version of Battle. I've actually just finished entering it all into Sibelius, and it sounds amazing, even with just MIDI instruments. Just for fun, I created separate midi files for each string playing technique (e.g. legato, marcato, and tremolo) and loaded some of SquidFont Orchestral's corresponding patches into them, layered them together, and have some seriously sweet-sounding double-bow action. The sheer power in the strings when trumpets and English horn have the Force theme is just stunning. Ah, but I ramble. Great, great stuff, though. You'll be sure to enjoy it.

    Nice.
Being a music comp major, I always enjoy seeing what the composers do to create their music.

And I'm thinking of trying to get my school orchestra (the University of Idaho Symphonic Orchestra) to play this. Gotta talk with the conductor about his literature restrictions, which could be a problem.

Music Comp. Major eh? that's what I plan to go into. I'm in the middle of writing a movie score for a composer with Finale. Lot's of fun.

Too bad they don't release entire scores. If people could see the originals of scores, I'm sure there would be a lot more respect for them, but they get sweeped under the rug as soon as they're finished recording except for a few selections. Not many movie scores released on paper like opera or musicals get treatment.

Wow, after reading this I think I'm gonna buy the score for Battle Of The Heroes. Should make for a very fun read.
