So I noticed something rather interesting. Shia LaBeouf is sporting a mustache in this film. I wonder if this is an effort on Spielberg's behalf to move LaBeouf out of that "the kid from Even Stevens" cliche that has plagued him so for so long. It also makes me wonder if LaBeouf's character will be more to the film than the "tag along kid" I feel they really could be building him up as a stronger young man type character that could carry this franchise beyond the indy films and maybe into television.

Films, maybe, I agree that's possible. TV, not likely. Lucas had some tough times with the Young Indy series, though it's ended up as a great set of DVDs. As Lucas said, "no matter what we put into the series to make it a great show, people always wanted to see that rolling boulder from Raiders."

I'm sure that was part of the discussion when they were deciding how his character would be dressed throughout the film. I think it was necessary to make him look a bit older and a little more mature. I just hope he doesn't play the part too goofy, which based on what we have seen from the trailers I think he will be alright. Too be honest with you, I have never seen Shia in a big screen role. I have actually seen Even Stevens and thought it was a hilarious show, and I thought he was a talented kid, but thats about it. It has taken a while for me to accept the fact that he will be playing such an important role in the Indy series, but the more I see, the less concerned I become with it.

For a lot of you guys you might feel alright with him stepping into this particular role, but you guys have probably seen his recent more 'dramatic' acting.. I haven't. I know.. I haven't seen Transformers. I just never got around to it. But everything looks good so far. As far as what his future in the Indy series what be... who knows. Somehow I can't really see him filling the shoes of Indiana Jones. But who knows? I will wait to reserve judgment until after I have seen the film.
