For those of you who do not read Marvel comics, marvel often do "Status Quo" that goes into "Summer events" frankly this is horrible because it disrupts many authors who are involved in their own stories in their ongoing series. But DelRey has no ongoing Star Wars series of books, so no one is getting their stories disrupted.

Say for example there is an event.

A 50 Megaton Nuclear explosion wipes out the city of Coronet on Boba Fett, Han Solo, Wedge Antilles, Lando Calrissian are either traveling too, or in Coronet at the time. This takes place 7 years from the current time period, FotJ end.

But this is not when the "Status Quo" begins this is where the Status Quo ends. And the stories begin right after FotJ.

there are three Hand of Thrawn esque two part series, setting up Han, and the Antilles as heads of a Corellian movement, one movement of many. Each book is a "a part of a year in the life of."
Like Jim Butcher dose Harry Dresden, Every book is a year...Usually set during the summer so a good amount of time has passed between each book. The story line concluding with the last book being a ?year 7? standalone novel leading all the characters toward Coronet, to this explosion event.

Also three trilogies come out by 3 different authors.
And Allana/Leia trilogy, a Ben Trilogy, and a Mandalorian Trilogy, all of with are non-interacting storylines that take place within this 7 year time period. They also do not directly interact with the characters in the main ?Line?. But their stories are influenced by their decisions.

For example Allana and Leia are mostly absent from Han?s life for seven years because Allana is receiving training from the Matukai, Jensaarai, Dathmori, take your pick, all, neither, what really matter is to develop her an Leia?s relationship and get her some supporting cast characters, and keep the isolated away from Han and the main Books. May be a year of two skip between books as they only getting a trilogy, we can always elaborate their time with more novels.

Same with the Ben Trilogy, Partner him with another Jedi, friend/rival whatever, he accumulates a 3 or 4 man posse including that partner. Same time scheme, leaves plenty of opening s for ?Khaiwalker?, as he is only getting a trilogy. Something loosely related to the Corrilian arc, maybe gathering info on the factions on Corellia for the GA, with the GA deciding to wash its hands of Corellia.

A Similar vein for the Mando?s only maybe as free agents for the Imperials, A trilogy with a similar time scheme, ending with the Empire not getting involved with Corellia either.

So when the big event, happens it is one Big event Novel, and sets up the Next Status Quo.

But you can still pad out the 1st status quo with ?Tales Of?, or a standalone adventure that takes place between books. And since the every power is not getting involved in the Corellian stuff, you can still have a different flavor of story by going into the Empire, or Hapes, or the Cooperate sector, Hutt space, whatever.

Cause now it seems like the current GFFA is meandering toward ?Star Wars: Legacy? except the Legacy comic books are still 95-80 years away in the time line. Should not planning an arch over say a smaller time period be better, rather than just winging it?
