I’ve been watching old Super Bowls all week on YouTube and one that really stands out to me is Super Bowl XXXV, in which the Baltimore Ravens defeated the New York Giants by a score of 34 to 7, and it wasn’t even nearly as close as that score made it appear; the Giants only touchdown came on a kick return in the third quarter, but the Ravens went on to return the very next kick off, which immediately negated the score. That means that the New York Giants basically did nothing for the whole game. Even though they won the NFC Championship 41-0 two weeks before at home against the Minnesota Vikings, there’s never been a team that just flat out didn’t belong in the Super Bowl the way this team Giants didn’t, and in my opinion, their presence in the game should be struck from the record. It wouldn’t be that hard; all you would have to do is take back the George S. Halas trophy that was awarded to them that year and contact all the players from that team and have them return their NFC Championship rings. Unprecedented, but doable.
I made a comment earlier tonight that I guess went out over the air that I am deeply ashamed of. If I have hurt anyone out there, I can't tell you how much I say from the bottom of my heart I'm so very, very sorry. I pride myself and think of myself as a man of faith, as there's a drive into deep left field by Castellanos and that'll be a home run. And so that'll make it a 4-0 ballgame.
The record must stand. @Point Given must continue to feel shame and by removing them it gives him an out. The shame rolls on.
A guy I was dating at the time and I went to his family's house to watch that Super Bowl. His father kept saying the game was rigged when it became clear the Giants were going to win.
It's always fun when people bring out the conspiracy theories because they can't handle losing. As if the other team didn't also win games to get to the Superbowl.
If we vacate it does that means the Vikings can claim to have lost a fifth superbowl? Take that Buffalo! Alone at the bottom!
Washington should have been disqualified from the 1991 Super Bowl and replaced with the NFCCG loser. No particular reason.
I'd rather not remember that super bowl either but I'd be remiss if I didn't mention that Ravens team was incredible.
I’d like the Patriots’ comeback in Super Bowl LI to be ruled invalid, and the Falcons therefore the winners.
That defense was incredible. That offense was one of the most pedestrian ever to win a Superbowl. I remember that night getting into a long discussion comparing the 2000 Ravens and the 1985 Bears.
