First of all, it just sounds dirty. It's like a comnination of the mother and father of all swears.

Second, it is often used as an expletitive to denote frustration or pain, as in "Aw, shucks."

Third, it's literally meaning is the outer shell of a nut, or as a verb, to violate an oyster.

So, I say, until the world at large accepts the value of this wonderous word as a curse, use it with impugnity in polite company.

Then you can act all cool when it catches on, as if it were an indie band or small film.

"Pfft, I was shucking saying shuck, before any of you shucking posers knew what the shuck it meant."

I assure you, phill, that this thread is much less funny than the Robin Williams HBO Special.

Edit 'Star Wars' out of posts. That would be interesting.

I am not a professional, Russel, and I'm stuck working in shackles.

There only so much a one-armed man can do.

    Also, Robin Williams shucks.

i've never known anyone to use it such a way.

    . . and confusion reigns supreme . .

    Aw shucks..... ;)

I'm not sure what the big deal is..... "shuck" has to do with preparing corn.... "shucks" is just a substitute for another swear word that begins with "sh"...

[sorry, I just woke up... the above statement was really lame]

`I've never known anyone to use it such a way.'

James Stewart comes to mind. Which means it cannot ever be a swear word.

Edit it out of posts. When you get bored, you can edit the whole post and write "I yearn for you tragically. A.T. Tappman, Chaplain, US Army"

And then sign it Washington Irving. When that gets boring, sign as Irving Washington.

I suggest shucks be replaced with "rain seashells"

Therefore the following posts should read:

    Sith Bane: Rain sheashells this!

    Phill: Rain seashells off, gundark

    Eugene_Meltsner_AIO: Well rain sheashells that!

EDIT: nevermind. It sounds better in my head :p
