Since the discovery yesturday that Jonathon was in a brief scene in Powder I thought it would be fun to connect him to Kevin Bacon.

    So here it goes,

    Jonathon in Powder to
    Jeff Goldblum in Powder to
Hugh Grant in 9 Months to
Julia Roberts in Notting Hill to
    Kevin Bacon in Flatliners

So Jonathon is only 5 degrees of seperation to Kevin Bacon.

    Next

    Mark Hamill

Actually, it's six degrees, and I can go you a little better...

jthornto was in the movie "Powder" with Jeff Goldblum
Jeff Goldblum starred in several episodes of the TV show "Will & Grace" as himself.
Kevin Bacon starred in a couple episode of the TV Show "Will & Grace" as himself.

And with that, I leave the game... Because it's not really fair when I play ;)

do TV guest spots really count? they weren't really on the show at the same time. I'd think you'd have to add another degree for an actor in the show to tie them to each episode...hmm...can we get a rule check on this one?

    I would go...

Jonathan in Powder with Mary Steenburgen who was in I Am Sam with Sean Penn who was in Mystic River with Kevin Bacon

    That's 4 by my count...

You really want me to play this game? 'Cause I will [face_mischief]

jthornto was in "Powder" with Mary Steenbergen
Mary Steenbergeen was in "Parenthood" with Steve Martin
Steve Martin was in "Novacaine" with Kevin Bacon

Which is again, 3 and only movies were used... I can probably think of only one other person better at this than me. :p

And to answer BFett's next challenge...

Mark Hamill wrote, produced and starred in "Comic Book: The Movie" with Arlene Sorkin (and they both do a tremendous amount of voice work in the cartoon industry)
Arlene Sorkin co-wrote the film "Picture Perfect" which co-starred Jennifer Aniston and Kevin Bacon.

Just to clarify, it's not the number of names that determines degrees, but the number of connections. A connection is made when two names are linked by a movie. -=wiki'd the Six Degrees game and learned that it was originally based on a mathematician=-

After Googling myself, I came across this bulletin board. Thank you for the kind comparison to Jonathan as, based on re-watching Powder, he seems like a very nice individual.

I am interested in seeing if Jonathan would like a part in my upcoming movie Death Sentence. If he is, please have him contact my agent and we'll discuss the details. Thank you.

Can I be in the movie, too??? I'm a really nice guy, too. And I loved you in that movie where you a wilderness guide and it had that kid from the Goonies that was also a Hobbit in those Ring movies. He had hairy feet in that movie.
