I was watching a broadcast of Sky sports and compared it against ESPN's sportscenter. Overall, I think Sky Sports has a more organized broadcast and more female reporters. ESPN on the other hand doesn't have 50,000 tickers+stat boxes on the screen at one time, and more experts come to talk about news storys. ESPN also has less female reporters, but they're hotter. ;)

    Your Opinion?

I've never heard of Sky sports, but it has to be better than Fox sports.

It's like ESPN except for the british isles...and it might be in Australia and New Zealand but I'm not sure.

ESPN, the worldwide leader in sports. Does Sky Sports News have the Schwam?

Sky Sports News is one the whole excellent. It's biased towards the bigger clubs (football 'soccer' is it's food and drink), but is still my favourite satellite channel. I've never really had a chance to watch American sports news channels, but the glimpses I've had made it seem very cluttered.

We Yanks are a shifty lot. We need all that clutter so we don't lose interest.

ESPN dominates all other sports channels. It has football, baseball, basketball, soccer, billiards, fishing, bowling, and a bunch of other stuff too.

Plus there are extra channels. Like ESPN2 and ESPN CLassic. ESPN has a lot more shows then just Sportscenter too. They got Cold Pizza, Around The Horn, Pardon The Interruption, Outside the Lines nightly, NBA fastbreak, NFL Primetime, NFL Live and too many more to list.

I like ESPN. I'm stickin' with it. The Only reason to watch Fox Sports is Best Damn Sports Show Period, and some of my local games.

Sky Sports News is just for sports news.

The other channels, Sky Sports 1, Sky Sports 2, Sky Sports 3 and Sky Sports Xtra are the ones that broadcast the action.

But do the announcers have weird accents?

Naught really. Usuly theair accENTS are NOR-mal.

and yes they just showed NFL results and video from almost every game. Pretty sad how ESPN never shows any Premier league clips.

major thumbs down for ESPN. I still think they are more organized though.

Well, I've never seen ESPN, so I can't judge it. Sky Sports has the best football programmes around at the moment, though - Soccer AM and Soccer Saturday are absolutely brilliant, and Football First is great for watching the highlights of matches, even though the post-match analysis is lacking. Get Andy Gray to do it!

That's because 99% of Americans (including myself) change the channel whenever they show soccor highlights.

When you say normal accents, you still mean weird ones from across the pond I call the Atlantic Ocean right?

Why ESPN show highlights from over there? People don't wanna see that. Therefore it is not sad.

BTW, I just went to Sky Sports' website. ESPN definitely has a much better site then they do.

"I've never heard of Sky sports, but it has to be better than Fox sports."

Sky is about 1/3 owned by News Corp, which happens to be the parent company of Fox.

Sky Sports News is the first channel I put on in the morning, and if theres nothing else on I put it on, even though Kirsty Gallagher doesn't present on it anymore :(

I can't say I ever watch ESPN, but do they have interactive coverage like Sky's coverage of the Champions League where you can switch between 8 games at once, or switch camera angles, commentators, etc...
