It's based on the short story "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow" by Washington Irving. (if I'm wrong on the author someone correct me.)

New York Constable Ichabod Crane journeys to the village of Sleepy Hollow to investigate a series of murders, attributed to the legendary "headless horseman." The murder victims were found without heads, hence the peoples' tendency to blame the horseman.

    EDIT: Had Irving's name backwards.

Actually it's Washington Irving, who also wrote the story of "Rip Van Winkle". But could I find The Legend of Sleepy Hollow at my local library?

Yeah, I fixed my goof on the name. I would assume you could find the story in a library, probably in a collection of Irving's stories.

Yes, they do. I guess I'd classify it under horror, though it's not necessarily a "scary" movie. Still, it's worth a rental.

I like Sleepy Hollow. Johnny Depp isn't my favourite (duh :p ) but I do like him some, and this movie's pretty good. What was surprising the most to me was, it was funny! :D

That's pretty cool... anything else I should know about the movie? I mean, everyone says "Oh, Sleepy Hollow! You HAVE to see that movie it's SO good!" But what makes it so good?

Or should I just get my @$$ out there and rent it? :D

Ooh, I love Sleepy Hollow. The color makes it really creepy. My only complaint about it is the kid that played young Ichabod. Yuck.

This movie is about Christopher Walken being unable to find peace in Hell. Some nutty witch digs up his skull and makes him come back and kill people she hates. Unfortunately, its not Christopher Walken who is killing everyone, but it's' Ray Park, who's head has been digitally erased to make him look "headless' Then this dork of a cop from New York shows up, falls in love with Wednesday from "The Addams family" (only she is a blonde in this one) and digs up the dead people the headless guy has killed. His only redeeming factor is that his mom is played by Lisa Marie, who is hotter than hell.

And oh yeah, Palpatine is in it too ;)

    YAY TIM BURTON!!! :D

It's not like the Washington Irving lore due to the fact that Ichabod Crane is hot, a policeman and not a teacher, and he gets the girl in the end rather than being a wuss and riding from town never to be heard from agian.

and what's wrong with Ray Park doing the killing and not Christopher Walken might I ask? He does plenty of killing in other movies (he get's his fair share in this one as well) and Ray Park packs a powerhouse of butt kicking moves! :D
