According to this, Bossk was in Jabba's sail barge during the trip to the Great Pit Of Carkoon.
No source that I know of detail how he survived the ensuing skirmish there. We know he survived because he appears in later stories.

I wasn't aware he was there. I don't recall any source saying he was.

Well apparently he was in ROTJ, the movie itself being the source. It's probably a blink and you miss him moment. But if he's canonically there and it's not retconned as just another Trandoshan...

Considering how many OTHER people managed to jump off, one more Trandoshan should be no big deal.

True, that is. But it'd be nice to get a nod to that somewhere, maybe a grumpy Bossk complaining about how his scales got burned :p

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that's a different Trandoshan. Fett and Bossk don't like each other much either, I doubt Bossk would be sticking around in a room where Fett was the man in charge's personal bodyguard.

According to the CCG it WAS Bossk. As 1) he can be seen on screen, 2) his gun was there (as referenced by the CCG) and 3) numerous other bounty hunters were there at the time (Dengar, Neelah, EG-31, etc.)

I remember Dengar in Jabba's palace but I can't recall Bossk. If anyone that rewatches the film sees him on the barge/palace post it up. Otherwise the Trandoshan still lives................he did appear briefly in a novel a couple years back didn't he?

You can see him on the sail barge for half a second when C-3PO gets the microphone. Bossk is standing in the background, right behind Ree-Yees.

Bossk appeared in one of the early NJO novels. It was more of a cameo appearance though - he didn't play a major part.

Edit - it was Agents of Chaos 1: Hero's Trial.

I knew Bossk was in Jabba's palace in ROTJ...his being on the sail barge is a pain, though...I think the first time he appears post sail barge is in the Bounty Hunter Wars books, right?

Right, the BHW trilogy. IIRC, he's still around Tatooine when he first appears, so it wouldn't be too much of a problem to explain. I'd have to go re-read the story to make sure there aren't any obvious continuity issues, though, since it's been a while.

What about Dengar? He's not on the sail barge, is he? That would be a problem--he was supposed to be staked down in the desert after a Fett-induced hangover.

Oh, and isn't Ephant Mon on the barge too? That could be yet another issue...

unless my memory fails me Dengar wasn't on the barge. in Tales of the Bounty Hunters boba poisoned him and jabba left put him in the middle of the desert.

You can briefly see ol' Scarface (though only on widescreen, I think) in Jabba's Palace, far left, when Luke falls into the rancor pit.

Punch my face Mon had a falling out with Jabba. Didn't like being warned Skywalker posed a real threat. Mon wasn't on the sailbarge.

That's right Ex, Ephant Mon wasn't on the sailbarge...he ended up going home to Vinsoth and began a "cult" (of sorts) emulating the beliefs and conduct of the Jedi.

Yes, we know Mon left Jabba before the sail barge voyage...according to TFJP. However, the ROTJ novel has him on the sailbarge, so it's possible that he's lurking in the background in the movie. It bears investigation, and an explanation...

Maybe Ephant Mon had a bodyguard/double who stayed on to work for Jabba?

Ephant Mon is on the barge in the novelisation, but I don't think he's ever seen in the movie there. It'd be difficult not to spot that dude. I'm pretty sure Dengar's not on the sail barge, though...

Bossk also makes a few post-ROTJ Marvel appearances, right? I remember him still working for Drebble in one or more of those issues.

Edit: I found it. It's Issue#85, "The Hero"

Nope. That was Chihdo, a Rodian, who was frozen in carbonite, in one of the issues that take place between ESB and ROTJ.

I thought there was an issue where a group of different bounty hunters, one of which was a Trandoshan, was frozen.
But it's been a long time since I read it. :)

Yeah, I checked it(Issue#72) again, you have a point: A couple of no-name hunters do get frozen, but not Bossk and IG-88, which were sort of leading the party.
