I feel kinda weird posting about this, but yeah. I was trying to retract the darn thing only to go a little bit too far, resulting in a snapping noise. When I tried to turn it back, it wouldn't move anymore. I'm fairly pissed now, as I was expecting the thing to last me for a good year or so, and now I've got 90% of the stuff stuck beneath the plastic and no apparent way to squeeze it out.

I don't suppose there's any way to fix it? Why would they make the things so fragile? -_-

I recommend you take a trip to Sears. Pick up a set of screw extractors and a tap and die set. Use the screw extractor to back out what remains of the mechanism from the deoderant stick. Then use the tap to reset the thread in the deoderant stick. Use the corresponding die to mill a matching screw from a piece of plastic stock. Insert the new screw mechanism and you are set. The necessary tools should only set you back about $50.
