So I want a forum that's 100% free, no hiddens fees or anything...

I know, you all are probably thinking I'm pretty picky, I have seen all forums and I like Ezboard the best, has anybody ever tried this? Before I sign up I need to make sure it's 100% free for life...

Chatarea.com, ads but no pop ups. Advertise if you want for only $8. Completely free. Ad free is available for a price.

I use this its free and quite nice. The owner is very active and if you have a problem he normally will fix it as soon as he sees it which at most is 48 hours.

I use aimoo.com for my boards, it's free and it works great. No pop-ups as far as I can tell.

It is in production, but at my server, Freewebs, they are making Message boards for the users. Also, at my old, crummy site they have message boards you can create. They call them Corkboards. Not sure if there is a difference. Here are the links:

I use aimoo. You can get PM, Icons...the works...and it's all free. It's very simple to use as well. It doesn't have the constant ad's and pop-up ads either like Ezboard.

 

Thanks Sara, after checking out all the forum providers, I've finally decided to go with Aimoo. I'll let you all know how it turns out.

on aimoo you get popups after a month......

Anybody have anything good to say about Proboards?

 

Proboards is ok. I had an account there. Very easy to set up. The only bummer was the popup ads.But if you leave the first one open and just minimize it,it's usually the only one you'll see. You can donate some cash and get no popups,but that kinda defeats the purpose of being free

 

Yeah, I like the feature of it being free, and able to link Avators, along with the colors, changing of the images and member control you have at your fingertips...

Version 3.0 or Version 4.0 of Proboards is going to be coming out in the near future, can't wait for that update...

And, I also tried InvissionFree but didn't care for it all that much, they're supposed to be updating their Admin CP soon too, so it should be better.

I'm on invison and it's one of the better forums that I have come accross. It has pretty good security for the board and I haven't had any trouble with it at all.

I'm having problems with my forum that I just started on aimoo.com. I am really impressed with the features. I created my board, but I can't visit it without my internet having to restart. Some error occurs. Is there any cure for this? I have sent error messages to Microsoft. If anyone can solve this problem, I would greatly appreciate it.

 

Not quite sure, lately I have had some trouble with my IE. I put it down to the fact I just upgraded to the newer version which doesn't seem to be as good

How do I open up all tags on Invision Boards? I can't click on any of the smileys or the Bold, Italic, you know, that kind of stuff doesn't work when you try to post. Is there some way I can open them up by the Administration area or do I open them on the boards themselves?

Here's another request: anyone knows of a board with the description of the topic but without the restriction of it having to be in english? Went to check HyperBoards and InvisionFree and they both have that problem.

I'll be making an ecology site in portuguese late this summer and one of the things I needed was to have a forum for it.
