So I was watching Tevye's Dream from Fiddler on the Roof...

...and I can't stop cracking up!The whole thing was hilarious! And the person who plays fruma sarah, reminds me of someone at school.

The entire film is great. I like the movie a lot. Yes, this was my first time seeing the whole thing. We borrowed it from my brother because, I'm going to use the monologue in the beginning to audition with.

Does anyone else like the dream sequence? Or better yet the film at all?

 

Just admit you're Jewish already.

Although, we did a rousing rendition of "To Life" for our Greek Sing the year we did Fiddler as the Jewish house (ZOMG TYPECASTING!). Please bear in mind we were the DRY Jewish house doing a rousing drinking song, complete with bottle dancing for hilarity purposes.

 

'Tis an excellent film. Topol turned in a spectacular performance (he would've won an Oscar if it weren't for Gene Hackman and The French Connection), and any music that Isaac Stern performs is automatically fantastic.

 

I love Fiddler on the Roof, I even saw it on Broadway starring the one and only Alfred Molina as Tevye.
Its actually only meant to be a minor comic relief since the entire movie/play itself is on the serious side of things.

I like it.

 

I used to like it.

But then if you try watching the film six and a half times straight through and the next day have a random person in the checkout line start whistling 'If I were a rich man' and suddenly want to strangle him and/or yourself, the actors, and the jerk who wrote the musical with your BARE HANDS-- THEN tell me what a great film it is.

Now, if I die without ever seeing it again, I will be happy.
