Good or evil? I haven't read the book but I know she stabs Mace and is taken back to Coruscant to be trailed under crimes against civilisation or something to that idea.
Is she still a jedi master? or is she now one of the "lost 20" or is it 21 now.
Is she menatlly insane? Arrrrrgghhhh I'm going menatlly insane! can someone help a poor sod like me understand what happened to her in Shatterpoint?

Insane. She was good, went crazy bad, and ended up insane.

Is she still a jedi Knight or has she been kicked outta the order now?

That's never explained. She's in the Jedi Temple in a coma just now I believe.

As I see it, the point is that "sane" and "insane" are revealed to be relative terms in a time of war. The important thing for our troubled hero (Mace) is that Depa is no longer able to function as a Jedi. In a manner of speaking, the "Jedi purge" began on Geonosis, because the dehumanization of war will itself destabilize the Jedi.

I salute James Luceno. He could have played Mace Windu as grossly wrong and Deppa right. Morality as having no place in War even as his ethics must erode for the appalling situation.

However Mace through perserverence suceeds in WINNING-and Depa's mind collapses because of it

It was the most heroic portrayal of a Jedi I've ever seen

Eh, like the writer matters that much, it's a book not a sitcom. :p

Depa is catatonic, after seeing the horror, the horror! of what she'd done she collapsed mentally and has not been heard from again.

And a very nice Windu portrayal by the author guy, whoever he is.

I'm writing a series of stories about Obi-Wan Kenobi and his best friend, a female Jedi. In my fan fic, she's Depa's padawan.

I'm trying to convey how she might react to what happens to her master.

    I'd go with sick terror

Deppa was perfectly normal up til the horrors of War (but you might portray signs in retrospect like she was incredibly squeamish) as she tries to understand the decision

Probably point out she also probably did it for Mace's cousin who became her lover

I don't think that she was in love with him. I have to reread the book a couple more times, but she didn't like him much
