So, the Arena's one year anniversary is exactly one month from today.......

pfft. Today's the 15th... The Arena started on November 16th of last year.




But yeah, I got an idea. We can spam Comms with like a billion threads, all of them saying, "We told you a sports forum would work and wouldn't take away from the JCC!!!"

I'm open to suggestions for a good way to celebrate the one-year anniversary of the forum. I was thinking we might start an annual tradition of voting for the players/teams/moments/games/etc of the past year during the month leading up to the anniversary date, and then post the winners each year on the anniversary.

If you all think that it would be a good idea, we could brain storm exactly what categories to include, and then find a host to take the votes and cumulate the scores and announce the winners.

I think an annual tourny would be cool. I say we must include an lol @ *blank* category.

I took a peek at the SFF forum #'s the other day just out of curiosity. The Arena has more topics and posts than the book/comics forum. Not that it's a competition or anything.

 

We're the sports forum. EVERYTHING is a competition!

Wait, you have to know that little leaguers are at the perfect height for crotch-kicking, don't you?

 

Considering how many sports are winding down for the season, and how many are just starting, I really expect the next couple of months to be the peak time of the year, as far as discussion goes. That's what's awesome about sports though, there's always something going on.

 

It'll be interesting to see what it's like during the World Cup or even the Euro next summer.
