So, today I met the real life Dr. Cox

No, not the actor who plays him, but an actual doctor with almost the exact same appearance and mannerisms.

We were referred to a larger hospital in downtown Orlando to reexamine my fiancee's previous ultrasound results. After the nurse had done the initial testing and a new ultrasound with my fiancee, we were then waiting for the doctor to examine her results. We waited for a long time and every time the doctor seemed about ready for us, another nurse or someone would call him away.

Eventually he showed up and he was all business, firing off questions just like Dr. Cox of Scrubs. When done with the questions, he looked over the nurse's results and the previous test results from my fiancee's last ultrasound. He began to ridicule the previous test in a manner much like the Dr. Cox of TV might, with the same deep voice and occasional drawl for emphasis. He was just like a huge mass of poofy-haired energy, complete with an assortment of humorous facial expressions, comical remarks, and everything else Cox-ian. All that was missing was a JD following in his every step.

After the examination, my fiancee looked at me and said, "That was awesome--I just had a visit from Dr. Cox!"

 

I know a real life Dr. S. Elgee.

So yeah, beat that!

 

Nothing like Cox to brighten up a visit to the hospital.

 

It definitely made for a good experience. It was just awesome to watch this guy do whatever he was doing. He was getting annoyed with people, almost yelling at others, and it was always hilarious.

 

We have a real life Mike Cox running for office here in Michigan. In the radio ads they say his name like 12 times, at least.

 

Who would you say likes Cox more, you or your fiancee?
