I just got this game yesterday and I have to say it is one of the most immersive and intense games I have ever played. No, it is not a perfect game, but it is damn fun. Unfortunately, as I don't have broadband I get to miss out on the online play, but I have to assume that it can only be MORE fun and intense than the single player game. Admitedly, this is all probably because of that microphone headset, but it is damn useful and offers command options not available without it.

My only issue with the game at this moment is the complete and utter stupidity of the AI in general. From teammates shuffling through terrain creating tons of noise, or from enemy AI just standing there and not shooting you for a few seconds, it's certainly not bright (then again, I just learned that while the AI is just standing there looking slack-jawed at you, you can open the mic and scream "hands in the air! get down!" and they'll surrender).

I'm currently on the 4th level (Thailand) :D

Is this a strategic game like Rogue Spear or more like the mission driven delta Force games?

    How much is it?

I think its strategic action, but thats just from reading previews/reviews.

If you leave dead enemies lieing around other AI guards will find them and call the alarm. If you leave trails in snow, the same thing will happen. Stick to the shadows, use team work, and think of different ways to solve a problem and decide which works best.

Dunno though, haven't played it. :)

It just came out. Its probably 50 dollars, 55-60 if you're unlucky.

It costs $55-$60, but that's not bad at all considering it comes packaged with the headset.

As for gameplay, it's not planning/strategy oriented as Rogue Spear was. I haven't played Delta Force, so I can't make a comparison. It is VERY team driven however, and using your two teams efficiently can make a stage particularly easy or particularly hard. Each mission is goal-oriented, with objectives such as gathering intel on enemy plans, rescuing hostages, escorting a defector to the extract point, sinking a barge, etc.

it would be cool if it where on PC, then we can show the hot shot console people what platform is the best.

actually i think it looks cool, but i dont think it will have a community like Counter-Strike or even TacOps

I'd take a PC game over any Ps2 game.

I'm thinking of buying this game or two towers. i like the idea of commanding your squad with a headset. But i'm worried about difficulty. If its too hard i know it'll just end up sitting there growing dust and it'll be $60 down the drain. Any help would be most appreciated.

The game is easy IF you remember not to rush in and try to blow everyone away. There's no health or armor in this game, so 2 or 3 bullets will kill you. This game is about stealth and teamwork. You really have to make your 2 squads as efficient as possible because you only have a total of 4 SEALs. That will mean sending one fireteam to cover your flanks, or going in for an assault while the other fireteam covers you from higher ground.

I got it! I'm stuck on the first level. I've placed one satchel charge but i don't know where else to go. i'm pretty sure i've killed every enemy on the ship. Any Help would be great.

dr_nick: I would play online if i had one of those adapter things and if i was more experienced.

SithShadow-at the part where you put the satchel charges, you set your satchel charge first then order one of your teammates to place the second satchel charge on the other side of the room.
SithShadow:Dont worry most people that play online, which is a lot over 50000 i think may be even 100000, arent the best at it as you can tell by the diffuculty of this game. Some people, suggesting by the way the talk on the headset, or 8 and 10 yrs old.A few nuts play the game as well, trying to kill hostages, teamates, reaviling allied positions, and just making no sense on the head sets. hope this helps

Heh heh....another question on the second level how do you destroy the weapons? I tried shooting 'em and blowing them up. But nothing works. And boomer ran towards the grenade for some reason and died. Another question do members of your team appear again in the next level after they've died?

To destroy the weapons in level 2 you have to place c4 charges on the weapons, then run as fast as you can from them before they explode, i suggest destroying them after all the objectives are complete since the explosions cause a lot of noise. I think your team comes back if they die in the mission before. Probably as a new person but with the same skills.

And boomer ran towards the grenade for some reason and died.

    [face_laugh]

That Boomer is quite possibly the stupidest bot I've ever seen. When you plant explosives or throw grenades, he'll often run TOWARDS them. Or if you order him to deploy a grenade at an enemy, he'll run up at point blank range and casually toss it at them, all the while getting pumped full of lead. And my most annoying experience with Boomer deals with the fact that he cannot navigate around obstables and sometimes gets stuck in spots. I often have to put the poor bastard out of his misery with a shot to the head. If there were only one thing in this game I could change, I would make it possible to switch between team members a-la Ghost Recon.
