A lot of TV shows are using a lot of good music in their soundtracks. Alias, Veronica Mars, LOST, Grey's Anatomy, OC, Smith, Jericho, Supernatural, Studio 60, House MD, Prison Break, and a bunch of others, all have a lot of newer, rock/alternative and indie type stuff on there. I like a lot of the music, and I've been looking for a website that has been tracking the songs used in shows. Does anyone happen to know of any sites like this?

In addition, I'm looking to start a good list that we can track as shows come on and so forth. Here's what I've got thus far. Unfortunently, I don't have which shows these are from.

Song Title, Artist, Album (This is what I have for songs and albums, might differ)

Orange Sky, Alexi Murdoch, Four Songs and Time Without Consequence
Ramblin' Man, The Allman Brothers Band, The Allman Brothers-A Decade Of Hits 1969 - 1979

I personally think the new BSG and Doctor Who have some of the best TV music, original or otherwise, around.

Also, who can forget The A-Team theme?

This thread isn't focusing on the composed music of a show, or the themes used - I'm thinking more about the commercial tracks used in it.

Yeah. They did have some good songs as well.

Personally, I think that show with the best musical choice would be either Veronica Mars or LOST.

I didn't note any songs from Studio 60 last night, but I could have easily missed something, although there's nothing up on the official site yet. Was there anything in Prson Break? I haven't gotten to that yet, because iTunes hasn't loaded it up yet.

Tonight, House, Veronica Mars, couple others.

Title theme seems to be Calling All Angels by Train, and the other two songs in the episode were:
    Cannonball by Damien Rice
    Fix You by Coldplay.

I thought it was just as good as using the David Grey song. They both have a similar sound, and the chorus, I'm Lost, I'm lost, I'm lost, seemed to fit nicely.

The David Grey song fit a little better, but soundwise, they worked well.
