What? No... it will hold 100 songs on a good day, and any sort of real movie, probably not even one, unless you're talking little video clips.

This PSP is starting to sound like a ripoff to me, $250 for just the system, another almost $50 for one game and over $50 for a very, very small memory card, so an initial layout of over $350 to be able to listen to 100 songs, or play one game.

    No...

    At 128kbps for a FULL 4 Minute Song = 133 songs

    I calculated this!

Yes, Memory cards aren't cheapest even for $60, but that's Memory Sticks for ya. They were NEVER cheaper than SD cards. Too bad PSP can't use SD.

And, I am not talking about Movies (2 hours long), I AM talking about clips like 5 minutes long each.

That's still not HUNDREDS like your initial claim, and a lot of people listen to songs that are longer than four minutes, and aren't compressed to 128kbps.

192kbps is more "likely" in the age of broadband. It's really a ripoff.

Cheaper to get a portable DVD player for movies, and much more economical to get an mp3 player for your music.

I'd rather see the PSP have better battery life than the ability to play 100 songs.

    Stick to the games.

Have you even used it? Huh?

I find it amazing people haven't even seen it judge its a bad system.

    God!

No wonder the sales aren't a Sold Out, because people ASSUME way too much!

You have to see it to believe it's Amazing. The quality... EVERYTHING is breathtaking.

You Assume TOO much, Xie, that's your problem!

    When I said 100s, of course I meant 100+, NOT 200, 300+

Yes, I work in retail, we have demo units, and we played with them on the receiving dock at 7AM when they came out.

Why would I pay $300+ to listen to a maximum of 133 songs, when I can pay $279 to listen to 20GB worth of songs on an iPod, or spend $150 and watch all of my pre-existing DVDs on a 7" LCD screen.

The PSP has EXCELLENT graphics and should be an EXCELLENT gaming system, which is why I will be buying one. The ability to play 100 songs or watch a $30 movie does not impress.

EDIT: Apparently you can't read. I never said it sucked or was a bad system. I said that the movie and music features are a ripoff, because you can't use them for anything worthwhile. I have over 100 songs by certain artists.

    EDIT2: When I said 100s, of course I meant 100+

THE WORD HUNDREDS MEANS MULTIPLE HUNDREDS. HOLY CRAP.

    Sure $279+$150=$429 IS BETTER [face_rolling_eyes]

And, Most people DON'T need 20GB iPods!

It's more than 3000s of songs recorded at 192kbps. really 100 songs is enough for one day!

And, since when is the movie $30? It's more like $14!

The movie/music feature aren't a ripoff, and they are very useful, To me

Anyway, the debate is really pointless.

You don't like it, fine, whatever, but I like it rather than spend $150 on a separate video player or almost the same price as a PSP for 20GB iPod.
