This is for the Proverb Challenge mini game by @Kit' @};-

#2 in the Proverb Challenge is:
Everyone is kneaded out of the same dough, but not baked in the same oven. —
    Yiddish Proverb

Disclamatory statement: I own nothing except for the OCs.

    Notes:
Tanda is apprenticed to sevrina and Jaina to Mara. :)
Leia and Mara talk about legacies and narratives.

    ~~

Han and Leia sent holomessages to two different Praxeums now that there was a second one established. Their daughters were mentored by Knights in each: Tanda by Sevrina and Jaina by Mara.

They often made it a point to visit them during a long vacation. It was a great time to catch up with family and friends and to get away from the daily tasks of their work routines.

During one visit, over pastries with caramel frosting and hot chocolate, Mara and Leia talked about the fascinating question about twins and expectations.

"So many times people think twins are cut from the same cloth and should have the identical or nearly enough to make a difference in temperament and tastes. More often than not, they're as different as children who aren't twins. Parents have to guard against thinking of them as one and the same." Leia commented.

"Do you think if you and Luke had been raised together you'd be more alike or not?"

"That's a good question, considering the vast differences in the cultures and prospects each of us had. But, say, we had been raised on Naboo by our maternal relatives. There is quite the chance our life paths and personalities would have been more aligned."

Mara mused aloud, "There's a saying that 'everyone is kneaded out of the same dough, but not baked in the same oven.' In talking to Sevrina, I realize that Jaina and Tanda are different in qualities, preferences, and temperament."

Leia laughed. "It certainly makes for a nice and interesting time when the two of them get together for any length of time. One of them is very adventurous and mischievous, the other levelheaded and pragmatic. So any ideas they come up with have a strong element of each."

"I can definitely see where those traits come from," Mara teased. "Han in the first instance, you in the latter."

"Yes." Leia agreed readily. "Although Han has mellowed quite a bit."

Mara gave Leia a look of feigned surprise. "Shh! Don't ever let him hear you say that."

"Oh, he's quite proud of my positive influence," Leia grinned.

Mara smiled softly, thinking of the positive effect Luke had had on her, as well.

    Sounds delicious. =P~

I liked this story. The question of how Luke and Leia would be different or similar if they had been raised together is a fascinating one.

A sweet piece with the children discussed. Luke and Leia raised together would have made a difference or not?

Aww, this is really sweet and an amazing response to the challenge! Such a lovely way of thinking about how things could have been different, while still celebrating the way they actually are. Nice work!
