Honestly, I wouldn't mind if they got the Venom vs Spider-Man shtick out of the way in No Way Home so that a potential third Venom movie can go back to being just that, another Venom movie honed in more on that Eddie/Venom dynamic that Hardy seems to have so much fun playing.

Though if the Spider-Man conflict does happen in a third Venom movie, it'd be neat if they introduced a new take on the white Anti-Venom suit. Rewrite Anti-Venom into an "artificial" human-created symbiote made using a piece of the real Venom and give that suit to Peter Parker to put him on the same level to fight Venom with. You can do some of the symbiote suit Peter stuff with it, without recreating the black suit look from Spider-Man 3 (plus black suits in general are nothing new aesthetically for Holland's Spidey), and at the end have the white Anti-Venom suit eventually merge back with the real Venom (and inherit some web powers and the spider logo on Venom's chest) when Spidey and Venom eventually team up against some other bad guy, as tends to be the case in all of these "vs" movies. Maybe that'll be Toxin?

I dunno. Like I said, I'd also be very ok if the Venom vs Spidey stuff is just dealt with quick in NWH and moved on from. Maybe once the MCU crossover is behind them and Sony doesn't feel like they have anything left to prove to Disney, they might finally do an R-rated Venom movie where he's allowed to chomp some heads off on screen. Im not sure I’d want them to make Toxin a straight-out villain, though. The appeal for me in that origin story was with Venom having to protect his “grandson” from being killed by his “son”/Toxin’s father (Carnage). Especially with Toxin having to learn about his abilities on the fly.

He tries to but Venom misunderstands what he’s about to say and says “fugitives!” instead.

I love the line. Growing up my friend and I would be Venom and Carnage, and I was Venom, and that line I mastered in his tone from TV series and video games.

RE: box office, That’s… wow. I love me some symbiotes but I even I underestimated how much people love symbiotes.

Also, anyone else notice they avoided any incorrect “sym-bye-oates” pronunciations this time?

RE: “We are Venom”, the above posts are correct. Said at the end of first film, interrupted as a joke in second film.

Ad for Venom Let There be Carnage features rave footage and mic drop, one of my favourite bits in the entire flick.

    "THANK YOU, ONE PERSON!"

    Also, why not canon?

Yeah, the rave had some great effects work too. He really looked like he was in that scene with home he interacted with the crowd (such as when he puts his hand on someone to move them as he’s walking through it). I wouldn’t be surprised if it was a guy in a suit with CG augmentation.

I think this shot it from the Rave scene that Hardy just posted, looks just like all CGI and the Venom head is just for the eyeline

I'm surprised Hardy actually acted as Venom for that bit cuz coulda been anyone. Anyway, yah, the integration of Venom into the crowd and lighting is fantastic anyway for that bit.

I kinda hope Venom becomes a franchise of seven movies, minus cross overs, and that Hardy becomes like Michael Gross in the Tremors Franchise: always there.

It could be possible that Hardy keeps doing weird, indie style low budget projects and the only blockbustering he does is only Venom for like 15 more years. Which could be neat.

Nah, I think I might be right there with you – at least, given their current cinematic incarnations. Holland is great and his movies are fine, but they're also pretty standard MCU fare in a cinematic landscape that is very populated with that kind of stuff. Hardy's Eddie/Venom is a wacky, unhinged performance and the movies he's in as the character feel like genuine schlock from a totally different era, from before superhero movies had their generally accepted formula (the first one tries to play into that formula and just totally misfires, and the sequel collects the pieces and just runs off with the campier elements that audiences really gravitated towards in the first go around). Almost like they could have released concurrently with the Wesley Snipes Blade movies (of which I really love the first two installments) or the Schumacher Batman movies (which, if you catch me in the right mood, I have a good amount of fun with as well). It's a bit of fresh air compared to the standard superhero stuff we get numerous times a year, even if the movies are absolute inconsistent, trashy messes. Technically speaking, the Watts/Holland Spidey movies are better made movies, but I really do love me some trash from time to time – even if these are held back a fair amount from hitting their true schlock potential by their PG-13 ratings.

An unrated cut of Let There Be Carnage for home release with some of those head chomps actually happening on screen and with a bit of blood would be neat.

Plus, just as a rule of thumb, gooey space monsters are just kinda neat in general. [face_laugh]

I hope Venom doesn't spend too long in MCU to be completely honest.

I feel same way about Holland’s Webhead. I was able to emotionally connect with Spidey when it was Toby McGuire (he’s my gen live action Peter Parker, I grew up with him), and Andrew Garfield, but not with Holland.

Honest trailer kinda nailed it with their Far From Home trailer by calling it "The boy who knew Iron Man". If they wanted to set up Tony as MCU Ben Paker (even though Peter already has a Ben Parker) it's done, I'd be fine if nobody mentions him in No Way Home. Well, okay, Happy is going to say something. But don't let Iron Man be a motivating factor for the baddie, please. With a potential all star lineup of Spider-Man baddies who know he's Peter Parker, hopefully it'll be actually Spider-Man focused on Spider-Man and Peter Parker, not an byproduct of Tony doing something. Right now it looks like a Parker problem that Doctor Strange did which I can like better.

Um... I’ll see NWH for Doctor Strange and Doc Ock.

Not much of a Spider-Man fan, though I enjoyed Spider-Man 2 and liked Michael Keaton & Jake Gyllenhaal in the current Spideys. Oh and ...Jonah of course.
