Stand Against Toxic Fandom

I started this thread on a different Star Wars message board and it seemed to fall on deaf ears to a large degree , I am posting it here to see if it is received in a more positive light ...." Being a toxic fan is when you’re insulting and berating and harassing the people making the movies or the people that like them." Folks , these are the exact people I speak to in making this topic , Kelly Marie Tran , Ahmed Best ,Jake Lloyd, Daisy Ridley, etc. . I understand that some people genuinely do not like the direction of the new films,or the decisions of those making them , and have some ligitimate criticisms,but this is not the place to heir those concerns , you probably SHOULD start your own topic to express your views and if you are of a mind to take a stand and stick up for the aforementioned people making the movies and the people that like them that ARE being harrassed, then this is the place for it .and to be clear on the intentions of this thread , if you have something supportive to say , this is the place , if not , take it elsewhere or start your own topic . I generally agree with you that people shouldn't harass people because of Star Wars.

But:

(1) It seems a bit odd that you posted this on another forum, didn't get the desired reaction, and decided to make an account on another Star Wars board and repost it. You haven't experienced this form or our own community, and having someone come in from outside out own group and try to preach to us comes off pretty poorly.

(2) The actual post is very scattered and seems to lack a clear point or purpose beside a general anti-toxic fandom vibe. Maybe revising the post would get you a better reaction?

(3) Linking your Deviant Art in your first post leaves a bad taste in my mouth, as many people come through here just to advertise.

 

Cute, a thread designed from the beginning to showcase your own art work. That's not going to fly here.
