Amanda was happy to be back in Seattle. The climate was more to her taste, despite the years away.
Sarek was easy to acclimate, since he had to do so while carrying out his diplomatic duties.
Spock was noncommittal about the whole prospect, but Amanda had no doubt that he would enjoy the visit.
They saw the old familiar places that Amanda had enjoyed while living there. Then they took the short trip to her sister's place in West Virginia.

"Sondra and Dylan run a ranch for fun and therapy." She said. "I always enjoyed riding horses growing up. My aunt and uncle had a couple of horses for fun strictly, not work." She grinned.
She paused and gave Sarek a look. "I can't wait for you to take a ride."

"I make no promises." He rejoined.

As they debarked from the air-car, Sondra & Dylan approached with welcoming smiles.

Sondra hugged Amanda & said: "You look fantastic! Guess the diplomatic life agrees with you."

Amanda laughed. "It's not that. It's Sarek." Her eyes were adoring as they rested upon her bondmate.

Sondra smiled. "You think you can still ride?"

Amanda winked. "It's like riding a bicycle. You don't forget. I've been looking forward to the chance."

"Your backside might have, by now." Her brother-in-law teased.

"Dylan!" Sondra remonstrated. If she feared her sister no longer had the knack for repartee, this was dispelled by Amanda's quick retort.

"You can dream, Dylan. If I keep my seat on your prize philly, then I expect my favorite breakfast."

"Stuffed French toast it is." He agreed readily.

Amanda's eyes shone with anticipation.

Amanda asked Sarek to accompany her. He took to riding with his customary grace. He was easy on the eyes in a riding outfit.

Spock was busily engaged with his cousins, Lilly & Jaxon. They were getting acquainted in the timeless way of younglings through playing of sports, in this instance basketball with the hoop set up in the back yard.

Amanda remarked to Dylan triumphantly after their ride: "It was as if I rode just yesterday! Extra maple syrup in the batter, please?"

"Always happy to oblige." Dylan grinned.

Three days into their visit, it was Dylan's & Sondra's anniversary. Amanda mentioned to Sarek that their gift represented the traditional item for the given year, in this case, crystal. Sarek was bemused by the custom of having anniversary gifts be somewhat based upon the materials of which they were made.

"It's not the only thing you can give." She said. "But it sets limits, suggests ideas if friends or family are stumped."

"It's fortunate that the material was not something like cardboard." He observed, and she laughed.

During their visit, they took a stroll along the beach at sunset while indulging in a banana split and an ice cream cone.
Sarek was introduced to the marvel of strawberry swirl with cheescake bits and crust mixed into the cone.
Spock and his mom shared a banana split with extra hot fudge sauce.

"Admit it. That was rather tasty." Amanda said to Sarek.

He did not even attempt to deny it. "It was definitely an experience worht repeating."

Some While Later

Spock and Nyota enjoyed walks along the beach during any time of day, but especially the time between sunset and moonrise. He told her of his visit with Aunt Sondra and Uncle Dylan & the sweet treat of a banana split.

Nyota's eyes danced. "Oh how terrific! Complete with hot fudge, I'll bet."

Spock answered: "I had it on good authority that is an essential ingredient."

"It sure is! How lovely you and your dad have those kinds of memories of family."

"Yes. One cannot put a value on such things. Circumstances, and you, have taught me so."

"I absolutely agree, love. But now I have a craving for a banana split."

"Then, by all means let us share one."

Love to see Amanda and Sarek having a nice time with the family.
