Set around 40 years before 'The Phantom Menace', 'Star Wars: A Shadow falls' tells the story of the mysterious Darth Plaguies the wise and his acceptance of a younger Palpatine as his apprentice. The Story lets us in on many key events that would shape the destiny of the Star Wars Saga. With an original and fresh idea, good acting and great storytelling, 'A Shadow Falls'is sure to be a mind-blowing fan film!

The script writing, casting, prop building, costume making, etc, is all finished and we are now
currently shooting on location and blue-screen in Great Britain, we recently released a short teaser trailer available for viewing only at our website: www.freewebs.com/pandora-productions

Recently our CG Animator has had to leave the production due to lack of free time, we are currently looking for another talented CG artist who is willing to work with us on the film. I realise that these forums get alot of people nagging for FX artists, but we have ideas and footage to show, if anyone is seriously interested please PM me or just post in this topic, I'm sure we can arrange something.

Furthermore our aim is to make a fan film which you can all enjoy, keep checking our website for more information!

True the Saber glows need some work, we shall be doing them in AE for the final film, the teaser effects were slightly rushed, and we didn't use AE. I certainly don't want to get laughs like that at the final film, so we will make sure we do it properly.

Stevenbills may I ask what you mean please?

He means; you're not exactly the first one to post something like this. People do it all the time, and most of the time, that's all they do. They never finish anything at all, besides a few posts about this and that.

You should really be careful when doing something as wide as this though. How long did it take to write the script? Can we look at a section of it? some consept sketches? etc.
Show off with the coolest stuff you have, and THEN we'll stop bothering you, and start worshiping you.

People really shouldn't make threads like this.
    It never works out.

What they mean to say is you should have toned down your post to be more of a request without primping.

Or in other words; if you need people for your film, wait until you have something more completed. Shortly put: put up something a bit serious to get people enthusiastic about your film.

Dorkman could probably say this better than me though. He usually does.

Essentially, what my fellow members are trying to say, is that anyone who collaborates with you wants to know that it will be worth it.

So there are a few things:

    1. Nobody (except the cast of the official films) is gonna walk into the project blindly. They wanna know exactly what it is they're working on before they start. So a copy of the script would help...or at least some of the script. If you're worried about the plot being spoiled, get them to sign NDA's, though most people around here aren't spoiler-happy and they wouldn't reveal any spoilers anyway.

    2. Any potential collaborators need to know that you're serious about this. So post some concept art, pics of costumes, props etc so that they know you are really going ahead with this project. It may also help to show people what equipment you are using (everything from camera's to software).

    3. Completion - Most fanfilms die in pre-production...oh we're making this great film etc etc...a month later the film gets cancelled. Some films get shut down half-way through shooting and there are even a few that get shelved during post-production. While it's impossible to guarantee that the film will be completed (never know what can happen) any collaborators will need to know that you are going to put the effort into the film and do everything possible to ensure that the film gets done.

    4. Schedule - Assuming the above points are met and the film moves forward, you're going to need a production schedule and one that will suit not only yourselves, but everyone else who works on the film. Fan films are made in people's free time, most people have jobs or school and aren't gonna be able to spend every second of the day completing effects in a shot or whatever. So you will need to sort out a schedule and deadlines that will work for everybody.

    5. Money - Will you be paying for the work collaborators put in? Since it's a fanfilm, I'm not sure what the hiring options are, some will do it for free if they feel it's worth it, but if there's a lo0t of work, some are gonna expect to be paid for the work they put in. I'm not sure what the rules are regarding fan films though. Also, do you have a budget? Or to be more blunt, do you have the money to make and finish the film?

    6. Dorkman...he knows, ask him...I dont have a clue.

Ok I am trying to take in all your comments, please keep them as constructive as possible, JediSithor, thanks for your post, it has helped quite alot, I've taken on board what you wrote and we have improved the website with, script smaples, equipment list (we use, like the camera, etc) we have also put on a filming schedule. Me and my production team are very serious about this project thats why we are doing all we can to show people just how serious, most likely by Sunday evening we will have a prop and costume list, complete with photographs, we are also working on a short scene, shot a month ago, which will show the acting, sound, and story. Also we will scan in all of the concept drawings and add them to the site.

    http://www.freewebs.com/pandora-productions/filmography.htm

The CG Animation we need doing is around 12-15 shots, most of them only seconds long but one of them will be about 3 minutes long, if anyone is curious to know more infromation of that we have pre-vis footage and ideas, along with sketches, i would be happy to send out.

Please keep all of the comments coming.

(p.s I will be away until Sunday, that will explain why I dont asnwer any comments until then)

    Many Thanks.
