Ahsoka Star Wars: Ahsoka - Season 2 Discussion Thread

I wonder how many times I have accidentally read TOS as Terms of Service instead of The official site.

I had my problems with Ahsoka, but I liked it in the end. So I am looking forward to this

 

My thoughts exactly. I didn't love it for the most part but I love having Star Wars, so very happy to get a season 2 and tie up so many loose threads. I wonder how much of a time jump there will be if at all.

 

I love Star Wars movies at the movie theaters like the next person, but this was the best news of today for me.

I loved Season 1, and cannot wait for Season 2. Especially if we have more Hayden Christensen appearances. But besides that, I feel that the setup for Season 2 was excellent, as I cannot wait to see what happens in Peridea. Honestly, I don't even care as much for Admiral Thrawn anymore, I just want to see Baylan Skoll, Shin Hati, Ahsoka, Sabine and the Gods Of Mortis in live action. Or whoever "inherited" Mortis anyway.

I’m super excited that we will get to see more of these characters in live action and a continuation of the compelling story in a second season .

 

It's good news; but I'm still waiting for the flashback scene where Ahsoka first meets Luke.

 

Season 1 ended on such a cliffhanger, I don’t know if I will even want to read leaks/spoilers. So many questions about which directions things will go, but I can’t wait for the epic story to continue.

I am suprised at the amount of pessimism this announcement has gotten on social media. I thought this series had a good reputation?

 

I'm hoping season 2 makes season 1 better in retrospect like the Clone Wars did for the PT.

 

Does "Dave's working on S2" mean Ahsoka Season 2 is officially on the slate? I'll jump up down, wonder about what S2 will focus on, the Mortis story or Ezra and Thrawn? Happy with either and even happier with both.

BTW, as awesome as Ray Stevenson was, if the character is continued, please let them do an intelligent recast.

Yes, because I thought this series had a pretty solid reputation among the fanbase.

 

I enjoyed Ashoka but missed large chunks due to not being a Filoni cartoon guy. I hope the next season can build on what came before in S1 and not rely on me having to go watch the cartoons.

Also, I think most Disney+ civilians will also prefer not having to do a lot of prereading.

You could've said that for many of the primary characters in both TBOBF and The Mandalorian as well. A handful of them were TCW carryovers.

 

Well no. Because they came across as what they are - filler. The guy in the big hat - The inquistors - They are all just rent-a-villains, and if others were from the cartoon - (I have no idea) then they were tropes. They didn't need explaining as we've seen those types before (Carl Weathers, etc) - However, The Twiek general, the apprentice and her friend who got lost somehow in the cartoon but they found(?) was unsufficently explained for the large roles they played. Hell, Ashoka was generally under explained until deep into the show.

These are common critiques BTW by the general viewing population.

 

Sorry, but I would assume the majority of the viewing population of Ahsoka did watch TCW.

Otherwise it's akin to people watching TBOBF without having watched the OT. Or Andor without having watched R1.

You already know who the primary character will be. His/her story is out there. As difficult as it may be (for whatever the reason), that will give you the character's background. Anything they give you to hint at their backstory in the live action series is gravy.
